Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is asking their 30,000 national
supporters to immediately contact Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) to ask him
not to flirt with President Obama or Senators Lindsey Graham, Chuck
Schumer, and John McCain on possibly sponsoring Amnesty legislation for
illegal aliens in John McCain's absence.
ALIPAC's efforts are in response to an article in Irish Central
Magazine on March 11 written by Patrick Roberts which claims "Senator
John Cornyn of Texas is believed to be the key figure who Senator Chuck
Schumer and Senator Lindsay Graham are hoping to come on board to work
towards immigration reform" because he has "Irish Roots".
"We are asking Senator Cornyn to turn down Obama, Graham, Schumer,
and McCain's requests for him to support Comprehensive Immigration
Reform Amnesty!", said William Gheen President of ALIPAC. "If these
reports are inaccurate, we would like a statement from Cornyn that he
opposes Comprehensive immigration reform Amnesty legislation currently
being pursued by Gutierrez in the Congress and Schumer and Graham in
the Senate."
Senator Cornyn has sponsored Amnesty bills in
the past that sounded tough on enforcement but actually contained
sneaky AMNESTY provisions such as his legislation in 2007 that
contained a 'touch back' Amnesty where illegals left America for a day
or two and then returned legally. Cornyn's 2005 legislation S. 1438
"Comprehensive Enforcement and Immigration Reform Act of 2005" sounded
tough on immigration enforcement, yet contained an Amnesty charade
called "deferred mandatory departure".
Almost every incumbent politician in Washington claims they oppose
"Amnesty" including John McCain. McCain's website claims he is against
amnesty yet he was the national figurehead for the GOP pushing Amnesty
for millions of illegal aliens along side Senator Kennedy in 2006 and
2007.
The 2006 and 2007 Amnesty legislation failed due to massive public
opposition recorded in certified polls as 2 to 1, and an enormous
volume of angry calls to Washington offices that collapsed the Capital
phone system.
"These corrupt politicians in Washington are lying when they claim
they don't support Amnesty but support Comprehensive Amnesty that
allows millions of illegal aliens to circumvent current laws, remain in
America, and become citizens and voters," said William Gheen. "We hope
that Senator Cornyn will stand with the vast majority of Americans who
favor enforcement instead of Amnesty."
ALIPAC activists across America are working hard to STOP AMNESTY
2010 and they are calling Senator Cornyn today asking him to oppose the
efforts of Obama, Schumer, Graham, and McCain to get another Republican
to sign the Amnesty bill.
