The Jamiel Shaw Family Raided By LAPD and LA City Service Police
Officers; Save Our State Supporting the Shaws by organizing Leimert
Park Rally
Leimert Park (Los Angeles), CA ? This past Sunday while the Jamiel
Shaw family and supporters were gathering Jamiel?s Law petition
signatures, Leimert Park was raided by both LAPD and LA City Service

On Monday several local radio talk show hosts aired this story. Save
Our State lead an inquiry to find the specific reasons for the raid.
After several phone calls to LAPD, LA City Service Police Officers,
City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo?s office, City Council Member Bernard
Park?s office, and City Council Member?s Jack Weiss? office, no clear
answer has been defined. However LA City Services declared that Rocky
Delgadillo?s office requested the Leimert Park raid due to a concern
by the Health Department. Other sources cite that Bernard Park?s
ordered the raid due to illegal vending. Another source claimed a
woman from Pennsylvania contacted LAPD reporting the Shaws. And
finally one last source stated the raid on the Shaws was political and
ordered a week ago.
Regardless of the reason, The Shaws civil rights were clearly violated
and the Shaws are being contacted by legal professionals to resolve
this issue.
In order to ensure the civil rights of the Shaws, Save Our State is
hosting a rally in Leimert Park this upcoming Sunday, August 24th,
2008. During this event with the Shaw family, we will be gathering
Jamiel?s Law petition signatures, registering voters, speaking, and
peacefully protesting with signs and American flags.
In addition the event will be aired live on the National Last American
Standing Show hosted by William Gheen.

The event will began promptly at 11:00am. The Shaw family will remain
in Leimert Park until 5:00pm to gather petition signatures for
Jamiel?s Law.
