Minuteman Founder Chris Simcox Endorses JD Hayworth against McCain! Monday, February 15 @ 14:34:07 EST by admin (652 reads) |
Simcox endorses Hayworth
By Ben Smith Politico Feb. 15, 2009
Chris Simcox, the co-founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, the
(we removed the biased description Mr. Smith of Politico had inserted here that biased his report) anti-illegal immigration group, has dropped his own primary
challenge to Sen. John McCain for Senate to endorse former Congressman
J.D. Hayworth, according to Hayworth spokesman Jason Rose.
Simcox hadn't found much traction in the poll attacking McCain for
his support for a package of measures known as Comprehensive
Immigration Reform, deeply unpopular among many Republican primary
voters, who consider it "amnesty." His endorsement gives will offer
Hayworth — who had already attacked McCain from the right on
immigration — even more visibility in that segment of the GOP base.

Caltrans to pay Minutemen in settlement over cleanup on I-5 Thursday, August 06 @ 08:07:31 EDT by admin (1025 reads) | ALIPAC: Congratulations to Jeff Schwilk and the Diego Minutemen for their court victory on the side of free speech in America!
---
A settlement has been reached between Caltrans
and the San Diego Minutemen that gives the anti-illegal-immigration
activists what they were hoping for: the right to keep their
Adopt-A-Highway sign on northbound Interstate 5, a cash payment, and
litter cleanup on an additional stretch of the freeway.
The settlement was reached Monday, according to federal court records.
In ending the lawsuit the group filed last year, the state conceded
that the San Diego Minutemen sign near the Border Patrol's San Clemente
checkpoint will remain for the duration of a five-year permit, and that
the group may continue to clean the highway shoulder there, said
attorney Howard Kaloogian, who represented the group.

border watches to fight illegal immigration.

Gilchrist and Spencer's Support for Accused Murderer Harms Minuteman Moveme Monday, June 29 @ 09:49:00 EDT by admin (1408 reads) | ALIPAC NOTE: We warned the nation and all group leaders, including Spencer and Gilchrist, about Shawna Forde many months before these murders. It is truly unfortunate that Gilchrist and others continued to offer Shawna support and aid long after all other groups and leaders in the movement did our best to isolate her. These latest articles show us that Gilchrist and Spencer assisted Shawna Forde after the date of the murders. If Jim Gilchrist and Glen Spencer had listened to the rest of the movement after Shawna Forde and Jim Gilchrist tried to circulate fake rape and beating pictures of Shawna, it would have been clear to Forde that she had no reason to be on Spencer's property or in regular phone and email contact with Jim Gilchrist (Co-Founder of Minuteman Project). These men continued to associate with Shawna Forde long after it became very clear to the vast majority of leaders in our movement that she was unstable and dangerous. Gilchrist and Spencer gave assistance to Shawna Forde long after an organized effort of multiple groups such as Save Our State, San Diego Minutemen, and ALIPAC were launched to warn the movement as well as quarantine and isolate Gilchrist and Forde.

Woman held in 2 slayings an outcast, activists say
But Shawna Forde had high-level contacts in Minuteman movement despite extreme views
Shawna Forde was a rogue, many border-security activists say, or an impostor or a criminal.
They say the woman now charged in connection with the home invasion and
shooting deaths of an Arivaca marijuana-trafficking suspect and his
9-year-old daughter was not really one of them.

individuals to stay away from Jim Gichrist and what little remains of
his Minuteman Project MMP for the last two years now.

Minutemen regroup after shootings
Two weeks after members of a fringe
border-protection group were arrested in connection with a double
homicide in Arivaca, Minuteman organizations are still scrambling to
explain their dealings with the suspects while distancing themselves
from the controversial Minutemen American Defense group.
Shawna Forde, MAD’s director and the one who authorities called the
ringleader in a plot to rob and murder Arivaca drug dealer Raul Flores
Jr. and his family, had ties to both Jim Gilchrist’s Minuteman Project
and the 12,000-member Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.

Jim Gilchrist Minuteman Project Damages Escalate MURDER CHARGES Tuesday, February 24 @ 13:49:59 EST by admin (2218 reads) | Jim Gilchrist's Border Operations Manager charged with murder including the death of a 9 year old girl. Please notify all media and candidate contacts that Jim Gilchrist's Minuteman Project Border Ops Director is in jail awaiting trial.
Allied Leaders,
Thank you for your previous understanding and response to our advisory not to circulate the suspicious story and photos released by Jim Gilchrist's Minuteman Project officer, Shawna Forde. After we advised you about problems with Shawna's credibility, story, and photos most groups in our movement stopped promoting her claims, except for Shawna's own group and Jim Gilchrist's Minuteman Project.
Shawna Forde is the MMP 'Border Operations Organizer' for Jim Gilchrist according to claims we found online and appears to be a member of his inner circle, along with Steve Eichler and the few other activists who remain with MMP, despite the groups beleaguered reputation and Gilchrist's continued bizarre and damaging behavior...

Napolitano Bad Pick as Security Chief, Minutemen Say Tuesday, November 25 @ 07:28:55 EST by admin (1600 reads) |
Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano pushed into law the nation’s harshest
penalty for employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants. But that’s
not a good enough credential for her to lead the Department of Homeland
Security — at least for the border guard watch group Minuteman Civil
Defense Corps.
Minuteman President Chris Simcox doesn’t hesitate to lambaste
Napolitano, who reportedly is president-elect Barack Obama’s top choice
to head homeland security.
“I’m dubious at best," Simcox said. "This is a situation where you
might as well put Barney the purple dinosaur in charge of homeland
security.”

Police Seize Minuteman's Legal Guns for Political Views? Wednesday, October 22 @ 12:06:36 EDT by alipac (2563 reads) | Use the First, Lose the Second
All he wanted was to talk to his representative about a political issue — something supposedly guaranteed by the First Amendment’s right to petition clause. True, being an activist with the Minutemen and wanting to discuss concerns over criminal illegal alien activity wasn’t exactly something he expected would resonate with Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY), but over the years, Gabriel Razzano had established a rapport with her chief of staff, who had even visited him at his home.
Except there was now a new chief, Razzano found out when he paid a visit to McCarthy’s office. And he didn’t return calls. So Razzano returned to McCarthy’s office to make an appointment, and this time was informed he was no longer one of her constituents due to reapportionment. They promised they’d straighten things out, but a week later, not having heard from them, he came back. They instructed him to go to the board of elections, which he did, returning with a “stamped official copy of his Certificate of Registration along with a Voter Registration Printout,” both confirming he was a McCarthy constituent. Proof in hand, he went back to her office.

Judge orders Minutemen's Adopt-A-Highway permit reinstated Saturday, June 28 @ 08:54:00 EDT by admin (1878 reads) | ALIPAC NOTE: We offer our congratulations to Jeff Schwilk founder of the San Diego Minutemen.

OCEANSIDE: Judge orders Minutemen's Adopt-A-Highway permit reinstated
OCEANSIDE ---- A
federal judge on Friday ordered the state Transportation Department to
let a controversial group of anti-illegal immigration activists pick up
litter near a Border Patrol checkpoint.
In a 34-page order, Judge William Q.
Hayes granted the San Diego Minutemen's request for a preliminary
injunction that gives Caltrans 30 days to reinstate the group's
Adopt-A-Highway permit for a 2-mile stretch of Interstate 5 near San
Clemente.
The state also must restore the courtesy sign bearing the Minutemen's name, the judge ruled.
The judge's decision enables the North
County group to once again pick up trash alongside the busy freeway
while its lawsuit against Caltrans officials is pending.
"We expected that on all counts," said the Minutemen's attorney, Howard
Kaloogian, when he learned of the judge's decision from a reporter
Friday night. "This basically tells us that our case is solid and will
probably win on the merits."
The state's Adopt-A-Highway program allows individuals,
organizations and businesses to clean stretches of roadway that meet
certain safety standards. The groups are recognized with simple
roadside signs.
In November, Caltrans made national news when it granted the
Minutemen, a group that has gained wide publicity for protesting
day-labor hiring sites, permission to clean the northbound stretch of
I-5.

Anti-illegal immigration group in search of signatures Monday, June 23 @ 08:33:10 EDT by admin (1889 reads) | Minutemen host meeting in Selah to rally support for petition
June 23, 2008
by Mark Morey
Yakima Herald-Republic
Supporters of an initiative that would restrict the state from offering
some services to illegal immigrants quietly announced their
signature-gathering campaign in Selah on Sunday.
Craig Keller of Seattle, a board member for Respect Washington,
unveiled the effort at a meeting of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps,
which promotes stricter enforcement of immigration laws and border
security. The group has a Yakima chapter.
Initiative 409 "would require state and local government agencies to
cooperate with the federal government in enforcing immigration laws,"
according to the ballot language.
Among other restrictions, employers would be required to verify an
applicant's ability to work legally in the United States; immigration
status would have to be verified before some applicants could receive
some state, local and federal public benefits; and driver's licenses
could not be issued without proof of immigration status.
