Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) is pleased to announce our endorsement of Chris Haugen for US Congress (CA-14) based on his commitment to reduce illegal immigration, secure America's borders, and restrict welfare to those that violate our immigration laws, and oppose amnesty.
"We are a nation of legal immigrants." says William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "America's immigration laws are not being enforced and the public wants leaders that will take action to deter, prevent, and reduce illegal immigration. How can we secure our nation if we don't secure our borders?"
ALIPAC's members have endorsed Chris Haugen because he has illustrated that illegal immigration concerns are an important part of his campaign. He received high rankings on his candidate survey which can be viewed at http://www.alipac.us Chris Haugen has stated that he believes stopping illegal immigration should be a top national priority, that illegal aliens should be deported, and that social welfare and benefits such as driver licenses and taxpayer assistance for college should be denied to those that break America's immigration laws. Haugen's main concern is the threat terrorists will exploit our borders.
NumbersUSA and Americans for Better Immigration give Haugen's opponent, Anna Eshoo, a very low grade of 'F' on immigration issues. Eshoo's voting record shows she has supported worker importation programs while opposing the immigration reform recommendations of the 9/11 Commission. She has voted to give illegal aliens in-state tuition and social security payments.
"Anna Eshoo has one of the worst records in Congress on illegal immigration." William Gheen said. "We need Chris Haugen in Congress. ALIPAC wants the legal citizens and voters of district 14 to know that he will represent their wishes in congress over the special interests that are responsible for our illegal immigration problems."
