According to Scott Ralls, president of the N.C. Community College
System, NC Community Colleges are already over capacity with Americans
seeking new job training during the bad economy and "Many students
won’t be able to enroll in the courses they need this fall."
(Wilmington Star, July 9, 2009, 'Community colleges filled to
capacity')
Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), NC Listen, NC Voice,
Randy's Right Blog, Triangle Conservatives, and NC Tea Party Revolution
are arranging this protest.
"We speak for the majority of NC's citizens when we say 'no college
access for illegal aliens'," said William Gheen of ALIPAC. "It should
be offensive to all Americans that non elected officials are about to
make this decision while disallowing public comment at their meeting.
How very un-American."
Reacting to the information presented to the Wilmington Star by N.C. Community College System President Scott Ralls...
"It is an affront to Americans that this board is even considering
giving illegal aliens access to our Community Colleges at a time when
American families are suffering and can't even get the classes they
need. Our focus needs to be on innocent American families and not
families that broke into our nation to take what is not theirs."
