    A 16-year-old illegal immigrant has been taken into custody after allegedly trafficking more than a half-a-ton of marijuana.

    Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said officers spotted the tarp-covered vehicle south of Interstate 8 in the Vekol valley.

    Deputies seized the vehicle and booked the teen on charges of conspiracy to transport narcotics.
