Immigration analyst applauds Florida for refusing law license to illegal immigrant

A border enforcement advocate says he is glad that the Florida Supreme Court ruled that an illegal alien cannot get a law license.

The Florida high court rejected the petition from a Mexican national who was brought to the United States when he was nine years old. It ruled that federal law prohibits people who are unlawfully in the country from obtaining professional licenses.

The justices said state law can override the federal ban, but Florida has taken no action to do so.

"We're glad to hear it," says William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC or ALIPAC.

Gheen says his organization has been fighting efforts to allow illegal immigrants to become attorneys, which he says gives them power inside the American legal system when they're not supposed to be in the United States.

"It's just utter ridiculousness," says Gheen. "But when you get to like some of the judges in this country, they are such ideologues. They have been so brainwashed."

Fox News reported the Florida case involves Jose Godinez-Samperio, whose parents brought him to the United States on tourist visas but never returned to Mexico. He graduated from New College in Florida, earned a law degree from Florida State University, and passed the state bar in 2011.

"I'm feeling very disappointed," Godinez-Samperio told The Associated Press, "but more than anything I'm feeling outraged at Congress," because it has not passed an immigration bill.

The story did not state if the illegal immigrant has applied for legal status in the United States, or explain why he has not done so. He currently has a work permit.

The California Supreme Court has granted a law license to an illegal alien who arrived in the U.S. from Mexico as a teenager. But that ruling was only after the state approved a law that allows immigrants in the country illegally to obtain a law license.

"That's because the California legislature is now dominated by Hispanic supremacists," Gheen alleges. "And that's the way it's going to be in many other states if we don't stop John Boehner and Eric Cantor, and all them, from helping Obama pass immigration reform amnesty."

Gheen says these Hispanic supremacist groups don't care about the principles of America and the rule of law. He says they only care about what benefits their race.
