U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, the Democrat President of the U.S. Senate, is apparently getting uncomfortable about the amnesty bill’s polling results. As this is written Wednesday morning, it looked like Reid would call for a final floor vote sometime very soon. He said he might keep the Senate working all weekend.

Why? Speed and timing are important to all hustles.

In simple terms, the deal is this: The Democrats will pretend they would actually plan do something to secure American borders and some of the Republicans will ignore 1986 and pretend that legalizing immigration crime will somehow prevent more illegal activity. And that they will win the White House in 2016 as a result. And that we can solve our unemployment crisis by importing millions of additional foreign workers.

The more the pro-enforcement Americans learn about what National Review correctly calls “Rubio’s Folly,” the more pressure they are putting on their senators to put the entire 1,000 pages into a shredder. The “Vote no!” calls and emails are now flooding into Senate offices.

To deter possible senatorial trickery, it is important to understand how the Senate voting procedure works. Before the body begins debate on any bill, it must vote to pass a “motion to proceed.” That has been done and required 60 votes. Then, to end debate, a motion called “final cloture” must also collect at least 60 votes. Only then can a final floor vote occur in which a simple majority can pass the bill (for the Obama-voter readers: there are 100 Senate seats, making 51 a majority).

Why is this notable? Because in this system, senators who want to help a bill pass, but don’t want their fingerprints on it, can vote “yes” on final cloture, thereby allowing 51 of their colleagues to vote “yes” on the actual legislation. While they then vote “no.”

“Yes” on final cloture and “no” on the actual legislation is how Georgia’s Senator Johnny Isakson voted on the unrelated gun bill earlier this year.

National Review also quantifies the replacement worker figures in the bill with this comparison: “the 2007 Bush-Kennedy proposal was rejected in part because it would have added 125,000 new guest workers. The Gang of Eight bill would add 1.6 million in the first year, and about 600,000 a year after that: That’s the population of Philadelphia in year one and the population of Boston each year after” the conservative editors warned this week.

That is in addition to the 33 million permanent immigrants the Obama-directed legislation would help add to the U.S. population in the next 10 years.

You read that correctly — “Obama-directed.” A senior White House official recently told the New Yorker magazine that “no decisions are being made without talking to us about it ... this does not fly if we’re not O.K. with it.”

Example of something that “does not fly?” for Obama? Try this: On Tuesday, the Senate considered two amendments that would have required the federal government to enforce security laws already in place before granting the illegal aliens another amnesty.

One, from Sen. John Thune (R- S.D.), required the federal government to complete 350 miles of reinforced, double-layered fencing along the southwest border with Mexico before illegal aliens could be legalized. The amendment would have also required another 350 miles of fencing to be constructed before they could obtain green cards. The fencing requirement was already mandated in the Secure Fence Act of 2006. The amendment failed 39-to-54.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who claims to support a border fence, voted “no” along with the Gang of Eight Republicans.

Another amendment, from Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), would have required the federal government to complete the biometric entry/exit system at all ports of entry — including land crossings — before amnesty. Congress already mandated such a system in 1996. And five times since. Including in 2002, following the horror of 9/11. At least six of the 9/11 terrorists overstayed their visas.

The amendment failed 36-to-58.

“I-wanna-be-president” Marco Rubio said just last week that the tracking system was the “lynchpin to the whole bill.” In May, he told several news outlets he supported such a monitoring system. On Tuesday, however, along with John McCain, Lindsey Graham and the Obama Democrats, Rubio voted against the visa tracking amendment.

Got that?

Please direct all “does anybody remember 1986 or 9/11 or the American worker?” questions to both of Georgia’s Republican Senators.

They should vote “no” on allowing a final floor vote.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House voted on Wednesday to cut food stamps by $2 billion a year as part of a wide-ranging farm bill.
The chamber rejected 234-188 a Democratic amendment to the five-year, half-trillion-dollar farm legislation that would have maintained current spending on food stamps, now called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP. The overall bill cuts the $80 billion-a-year program by about 3 percent and makes it harder for some people to qualify.
The food stamp cuts have complicated passage of the bill and its farm-state supporters were working to secure votes Wednesday. Many conservatives have said the food stamp cuts do not go far enough since the program has doubled in cost in the last five years and now feeds 1 in 7 Americans. Liberals have argued against any reductions, contending the House plan could take as many as 2 million needy recipients off the rolls. The White House has threatened a veto over the food stamp cuts.
The amendment by Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass., and other Democrats would have eliminated the SNAP cuts and taken the money from farm subsidies instead.
"It's too big, it's too harsh and it's going to hurt so many people," McGovern said of the food aid cuts.
Other amendments chipped away at the program. The House adopted by voice vote an amendment to require drug tests for SNAP recipients, angering Democrats who said the tests would be demeaning to people who apply for the food aid. Lawmakers also adopted by voice vote an amendment that would end a 2004 U.S.-Mexico agreement to educate Mexican-Americans about food stamps. More amendments are expected to try and scale back the program.
Also complicating passage is growing Republican opposition to farm subsidies, some of which are expanded under the bill. Republicans have proposed amendments that would cut back dairy and sugar supports that could turn lawmakers from certain regions of the country against the bill if they were to succeed.
The House is scheduled to continue voting on 103 amendments to the bill Thursday with a vote on passage possibly next week. As of Wednesday, it was unclear if Republicans had enough votes.
In an effort to push the legislation through, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, said last week that he would vote for it, while making it clear that he did not really like it. He said he wants to get the bill to House and Senate negotiators for a potential deal, and that passing the bill was better than doing nothing.
The legislation would cut around $4 billion a year in overall spending on farm and nutrition programs. The Senate passed its version of the farm bill last week, with about $2.4 billion a year in overall cuts and a $400 million annual decrease in the SNAP program - about a fifth of the amount of the House food stamp cuts.
Democratic leaders have said they will wait to see how the House votes on the many amendments, but have so far signaled opposition to the measure. Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi of California argued against the food stamp cuts on the floor Wednesday and was a "likely no" on the bill, according to an aide. No. 2 House Democrat Steny Hoyer of Maryland called the food stamp cuts "irresponsible."
The chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, Rep. Frank Lucas, R-Okla., told colleagues that a robust farm policy was necessary to avoid farm crises like those in the 1930s and 1980s.
"I will work with all of you to improve this draft," he said Tuesday. "I ask you to work with me."
The legislation would achieve some of the food stamp cuts by partially eliminating what is called categorical eligibility, or giving people automatic food stamp benefits when they sign up for certain other programs. The bill would end a practice in some states of giving low-income people as little as $1 a year in home heating assistance, even when they don't have heating bills, in order to make them eligible for increased food stamp benefits.
Lucas said the cuts would still allow people who qualify to apply for food stamps, they just wouldn't automatically get them.
The Oklahoma Republican has called the overall legislation the "most reform-minded bill in decades" because it would make needed cuts to food stamps and eliminate $5 billion a year in direct payments, subsidies that are paid to farmers whether they grow or not. The bill would expand crop insurance and makes it easier for rice and peanut farmers to collect subsidies.
The bill also sets policy for international food aid abroad, which is currently shipped from U.S. farms. The House rejected an amendment to shift around half of international food aid money to more flexible accounts that allow for cash purchases abroad.
The Obama administration has proposed shifting the way the food aid is distributed, saying it would be more efficient to make purchases closer to conflict areas.

The mask has slipped from pro-reform vigilantes — now it’s death threats and intimidation.

You can try to put “conservative” lipstick on the lawless amnesty mob. But in the end, it’s still a lawless mob. The big government–big business alliance to protect illegal immigration got a lot of mileage using foolish Republicans Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan as front men. But the true colors of the open-borders grievance-mongers always show through.

After America said no to a pork-filled security-undermining amnesty bill in 2007, the No Illegal Alien Left Behind lobbyists changed their overtly thuggish tactics. They put down their upside-down American flags, stopped wearing their Commie Che Guevara T-shirts, and cloaked their radical “Aztlan” aspirations in the less divisive rhetoric of “reform” and “opportunity.”

It was all just an act, of course. Inevitably, the mask has slipped. Over the weekend, illegal-alien protesters descended on the private residence of Kansas secretary of state and immigration-enforcement lawyer Kris Kobach. As Twitchy.com reported on Saturday, 300 amnesty activists marched into Kobach’s neighborhood and barged up his driveway and right onto his doorstep. It’s how the Alinskyite “community organizers” roll.

Shouting into a bullhorn and waving their fists from his front porch, the property-rights invaders dubbed Kobach “King of Hate” for his work representing border-security activists and federal customs-enforcement agents who are fighting the systemic sabotage of immigration law. Thankfully, Kobach, his wife, and their four young daughters were not home at the time.

But the aggrieved amnesty demanders are not done yet. And Kobach is not the only one in their crosshairs.

After tea-party activist turned Kansas state representative Amanda Grosserode condemned the mob action publicly on Facebook, racist insults and threats littered her page. Roberto Medina Ramirez wrote: “I’ll give her something to be disgusted about!” Doris Lynn Crouse Gent chimed in: “OMG! Maybe her drive should be next.” Matt S. Bashaw echoed the call: “Maybe her house should be next.” Facebook user Jude Robinson also ranted on Grosserode’s page: “Since Kobach steals taxpayer money spreading hate around the country, he deserves what he gets.”

Dennis Paul Romero left this message for Grosserode: “[N]azi kkk and she is proud of it.” A user writing as “Paul-says Fckmarkzuck” left death threats under Romero’s comment: “Gotta start killing all the Nazis. Politicans [sic], bankers, and priests. Cops, lawyers, and Judges. ASAP.” The same user added: “Just another b*tch that needs to die off already.”

The radicals of Occupy Kansas posted an inflammatory photo of Grosserode with the race-baiting caption: “Kansas State legislator Amanda Grosserode says she is ‘disgusted’ by Hispanic protesters.” Grosserode wasn’t disgusted by their ethnicity. She was disgusted by their actions. No matter. Race/ethnic card: activated.

Gina Long pounced: “[S]he is stupid and doesn’t like brown people.” So did Diana Bauer: “Ah, poor Ms Grosserode; sorry that you find our Constitution so difficult to stomach. Or is it only whites that have the right to freedom of speech.” One Lupe Ramirez left his own message for Grosserode: “We are starting our fundraising and campaign to unseat you. Do you not realize how many Hispanics are in Kansas. You no longer live in Dorothy’s Kansas. You cannot represent your state, you don’t even know who they are.”

Grosserode isn’t backing down. She told me Tuesday that she will remain “vigilant” and has given local law enforcement a heads-up. The conservative mom and lawmaker notes sadly: “There are some who would say that when you are in elected office, you should expect this kind of thing. I would disagree. No one deserves threats or threats to their home and family.”

But the amnesty vigilantes have no respect for borders, let alone private front porches, in their quest for another massive federal illegal-alien bailout. They have no respect for law-abiding U.S. workers. They have no respect for law-abiding foreigners applying to get into our country the right and proper way.

As they besiege Capitol Hill this month demanding more rights and payoffs, take note: These groups do not stand for the American dream. They are a nightmare conglomeration of George Soros–funded social-justice operatives, transnationalists, and La Raza militants who detest U.S. sovereignty. National People’s Action, which spearheads progressive “direct actions” at the private homes of their political foes and led the march on Kobach’s home, is a “community organizing” nonprofit based in — you guessed it — Chicago.

NPA’s past shakedowns have involved busing in protesters and schoolchildren (using public school buses) to invade the private property of their victims and intimidate their families. They relish their brass knuckles with this anthem:

Who’s on your hit list, NPA?
Who’s on your hit list for today?
Take no prisoner, take no names.
Kick ’em in the a[**] when they play their games.

As I first reported in 2004, NPA is funded by the Tides Foundation, the Ben and Jerry’s Foundation, and the MacArthur, Ford, and Rockefeller Foundations. It’s also funded by your tax dollars. My research found that the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Massachusetts Department of Education have all given tens of thousands of dollars in grants to NPA members for left-wing activism, identity politics, and illegal-alien benefits.

Rubio, Ryan, and other Republicans who’ve made common cause with these welfare-state goons have betrayed fundamental principles of limited government and the rule of law. They’ve allied themselves with the mob. There’s nothing, not one thing, “conservative” about mass illegal-alien amnesty. It’s the complete Chicago-ization of America.

MOGADISHU, Somalia (AP) — Seven al-Qaida-linked militants on a suicide mission attacked the U.N. compound Wednesday with a truck bomb and then poured inside, killing at least 13 people before dying in the assault.
At least three foreigners were slain during the raid in the Somali capital of Mogadishu, where the United Nations expanded its presence this year, about 18 months after Islamic insurgents were pushed from the seaside city.
The militant group al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack, calling the U.N. "a merchant of death."
African Union forces expelled al-Shabab from Mogadishu in August 2011, ending years of daily violence that had caused the rest of the world to shun the capital for two decades. After the ouster of al-Shabab, the international community had started trickling back into the capital, and the U.N. began moving in its personnel from Kenya, a process that accelerated in recent weeks.
Wednesday's attack, however, underscores the fragile security situation and will force the U.N. and embassies to review safety plans and decide if they have the resources to withstand a sustained assault from al-Shabab.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon commended the U.N. security guards who defended the compound, a spokesman said.
"Malicious terrorist attacks … will not deter the United Nations or weaken its resolve to stand by the people and government of Somalia as they work courageously to build peace in their country," said U.N. deputy spokesman Eduardo del Buey.
Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., condemned the "brazen assault on civilians working for peace."
Somali Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon said he was appalled by "such barbaric violence." An African Union official, Mahamet Saleh Annadif, condemned the "cowardly" attack and sent condolences to the families of the victims.
The attack began about 11:30 a.m. when the seven al-Shabab militants from what the group called its martyrdom brigade blew up an explosives-laden truck at the gates of the U.N. compound and gunmen rushed in, said a U.N. official who insisted on anonymity because he was not an official spokesman.
At least two other blasts followed, said Ben Parker, a spokesman for the U.N. Assistance Mission in Somalia.
Dozens of staff from U.N. humanitarian and development agencies were in the compound, and many were moved to a secure bunker in the complex, Parker said. Later, they were evacuated to a secure military base and airport complex across the street, where U.N.-backed African Union military forces are based.
Fadumo Hussein, a shopkeeper who was in her shop near the scene of the attack, described a narrow escape.
"It started with an earsplitting explosion, followed by heavy gunfire," she said, showing holes made by bullets on her shop. "I crouched and then crawled like an animal. I am very lucky. It was a shocking moment."
African Union and Somali security forces responded and took control of the compound by 12:30 p.m.
An Associated Press reporter who went into the bullet-scarred compound afterward saw two bodies of what appeared to be al-Shabab attackers wearing Somali military uniforms. The seven attackers died, said a U.N. official who insisted on anonymity because he was not an official spokesman.
Del Buey said one U.N. international staff member, three contractors, and four Somali security guards died inside the compound. A number of Somali civilians were also killed and wounded outside the compound, del Buey said at U.N. headquarters.
Ambulance driver Mohamed Ali said he took away five dead civilians and 10 people who were wounded.
Two of the dead were South Africans from the company Denel Mechem who were working to get rid of land mines, said Vuyelwa Qinga, a spokeswoman for Denel, a manufacturer of defense equipment.
"There was not very much time to get into the safe area," Parker said.
The top U.N. official on Somalia, Nicholas Kay, who was not in the compound when it was attacked, said he was horrified by the attack.
"The United Nations common compound houses U.N. personnel working on humanitarian and development issues for the Somali people. This was an act of blatant terrorism and a desperate attempt to knock Somalia off its path of recovery and peace-building," he said.
A statement sent on al-Shabab's Twitter feed said: "The U.N., a merchant of death & a satanic force of evil, has a long inglorious record of spreading nothing but poverty, dependency & disbelief."
Ban had visited Mogadishu in December to announce the return of the U.N.'s political office to the country.

Hey, you — the guy with a real job. You know, a “make things/break things/get your hands dirty” job?

Here’s what the political class now pushing immigration amnesty thinks of you:

“There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.”

That’s from an aide to U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), quoted in the New Yorker magazine, as he worked a deal between the bigwigs of the building and construction trade unions and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The results of that deal are included in the 1,075 page, 24-pound (!) so-called “immigration reform” bill barreling its way through the U.S. Senate.

And who’s going to get crushed under the weight of this legislative monstrosity? You “American workers who … can’t cut it.”

Think about that as you sit reading the Herald at your local Dunkin’ Donuts, waiting for your ride to work or sitting eating lunch on a couple of cinder blocks on your job site. These are the guys in Washington who are supposed to be on your side. And they’re pushing for amnesty and more foreign workers to compete for your jobs.

After all, we can’t “presume you’re a star worker,” can we?

U.S. Sen. Liz Warren, Sen.-wannabe Ed Markey and every liberal Democrat in New England is going to vote to reward the illegal immigrants who have been stealing jobs from American workers like you, with legal permission from the government to keep some American slob out of work.

Longtime amnest-esiac Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina predicts 70 votes for passage in the U.S. Senate, including fellow Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire.

And who’s speaking up for bricklayers, pipe fitters and paint-slingers afflicted with the unfortunate challenge of being Americans? Nobody around here.

No, made-in-the-USA suckers like you are expected to get licenses, permits and pay all your taxes, and then when you lose out on a job to an illegal immigrant who’s doing none of those things, you’re told “you can’t cut it.” You’re a xenophobe who doesn’t want to compete with foreign labor.

On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that states can’t require would-be voters to produce paperwork to prove they’re Americans. The voters of Arizona were bothered by the fact that “motor-voter” rules let people simply declare themselves Americans when registering to vote — no proof required.

“It’s essentially an honor system. It does not do the job,” Arizona’s attorney general argued to the Supreme Court. Sonia Sotomayor’s reply? “Well, that’s what the federal system decided was enough.”

The court ruled 7-2 that she’s right. But why did the federal government pass a law that allows people to “self-declare” their U.S. citizenship — an obvious invitation to fraud?

Why would they reward illegal immigrants who have spent years cheating the system and collecting taxpayer benefits with the precious gift of living legally in America and, eventually, citizenship?

Why do amnesty advocates insist that deporting people simply for being in America illegally — something done by virtually every other country in the world — is racist and wrong?

Because they themselves don’t believe that American citizenship is something to value. To you, being an American makes you one of the luckiest people in the world. But to the “Americans can’t cut it” crowd, American citizenship is no big deal.

These are people who say things like, “For the first time in my adult life, I’m truly proud of my country” when their husbands become the Democratic nominee for president.

That’s why they’re so willing to give it away.
Anti-tax protesters staged a large rally on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol Wednesday to air their grievances against the Internal Revenue Service and what speakers described as an intrusive, overweening federal government.
The rally comes amid multiple active probes into the improper targeting of conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status by IRS officials, and who in the Obama administration knew about the targeting.
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Federal authorities on Wednesday accused two upstate New York men of assembling a portable X-ray weapon that they intended to use to secretly sicken opponents of Israel.
Prosecutors said 49-year-old Glendon Scott Crawford, of Galway, and 54-year-old Eric J. Feight, of Hudson, have been charged with conspiracy to provide support to terrorists following a yearlong undercover investigation.
Investigators said Crawford approached Jewish organizations looking for people to help him with technology that could be used to surreptitiously deliver damaging and even lethal doses of radiation against those he considered enemies of Israel. They assembled the mobile device, which was to be controlled remotely, but it was inoperable and nobody was hurt.
The damaging effects of the radiation would have appeared only days later, authorities said.
Both men were scheduled to appear in federal court Wednesday in Albany. They could face up to 15 years in prison.
"This case demonstrates how we must remain vigilant to detect and stop potential terrorists, who so often harbor hatred toward people they deem undesirable," U.S. Attorney Richard Hartunian said.
The investigation by the FBI in Albany and police agencies began in April 2012 after authorities received information that Crawford had approached the Jewish organizations.
FBI Special Agent Andrew Vale said efforts to thwart violent plots require public help.
New Yorkers for Immigration Control and Enforcement rallies against a pro-amnesty rally held this Father’s Day. Joanna Marzullo, president of NY ICE, has the details:
June 14, 2013, New York, NY. NY ICE counter-demonstrated, once again, at the Federal ICE Center at Varick Street in NYC. The photo above is from that counter demonstration, and features a NY ICE Member boldly holding a “NO AMNESTY” sign against the stampede of illegal aliens who were trying to exploit Father’s Day for amnesty. At the counter, an illegal told NY ICE that we were “ruining” her day, but, in fact, they are trying to continue to ruin our country.
Also, as this video demonstrates, illegals are fond of saying they “are human”, but that is just another deflection. They are humans who are illegally here, as the NY ICE Member in that video eloquently states amidst the hoards of illegals; not in the shadows! Contrary to their propaganda, Federal ICE is not conducting raids or detentions in any kind of massive way. Most illegals that are detained are, in fact, detained for other reasons, like drug-dealing, that are in addition to their illegal status. And, in fact, most of these illegal alien fathers have other children in in their home countries who they separated themselves from.
In fact, deporting them would serve to reunite these illegal alien fathers with their children in their home countries. Illegal alien advocates always act like the U.S. is the only country where illegal alien families can be reunited, and that’s because they want access to the America’s resources. Most of these illegal alien fathers are international Johnny Appleseeds, fathering multiple children in different countries. Don’t be fooled by their propaganda that goes against the self-interest of the citizens and legal immigrants of the U.S.!
Winston Salem Journal

No licenses for ‘illegal aliens’

Our nation was founded on the principal of rule of law, meaning that people are responsible for their actions and the consequences that follow. In a civil society, it is necessary to not reward illegal behavior otherwise more illegal behavior will follow.

Soon, the General Assembly will decide whether or not North Carolina will award illegal aliens with drivers’ permits. Rewarding illegal aliens with a privilege that is reserved for citizens and those lawfully present in North Carolina is wrong.

This bill, if passed, will lead to two consequences. First, an influx of illegal aliens will come to our state for the purpose of working unlawfully. The drivers’ permit will exempt them from the E-Verify system, and they will be able to obtain an illegal job with little to no enforcement of their unlawful status. Second, if they choose not to work, they can use the state issued drivers’ permit to live here free from enforcement and tap into our state’s social welfare safety net.

Either way, the law-abiding taxpayers of North Carolina will pay the price through social services or through unfair competition for jobs, driving down wages and taking employment away from North Carolina citizens.

North Carolina has the fourth highest unemployment rate in the nation. Ill-conceived legislation that harms our legal citizens who are struggling to make ends meet only exacerbates the problem.
Reason No. 1: It will add up to a net 8.4 million anti-gun voters in the next 13 years or so. This could make comprehensive gun control and confiscation inevitable within our lifetimes.

Reason No. 2: Victory feeds on itself, but so does defeat. If anti-gun Senator Chuck Schumer passes this bill out of the Senate with a strong bipartisan majority, he has already said he intends to bring back gun control by the end of the summer. Obama would emerge from the fight re-energized to take away your guns.

Reason No. 3: If people get used to having to have the government’s permission to get a job (even to clean your house or mow your lawn), it will be a lot harder to fight universal background checks and gun registries.

Reason No. 4: There is the concern that the bill will create a de facto national ID card. A Saturday article in The New York Times, titled “Fears of National ID with Immigration Bill,”reports that some in Congress have worried openly about the “potential for another sprawling data network that could ultimately be the equivalent of a national ID system.” Gun Owners of America has long opposed anything that smacks of this because of the danger that such data collection poses to gun owners’ privacy.

I gave more reasons the amnesty bill needs to fail here.

UPI
In a recent poll, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie scored high across political lines in terms of name recognition.

True conservatives largely agree that mainstream Republicans aren’t representing their interests, but find it anathema to vote for Democrats with openly liberal views on fiscal controls and the reach of government.

But if the GOP hedges on its nominee for the 2016 Presidential election by picking the candidate with the broadest cross-party appeal, conservatives could find themselves enduring another four-year wait until the White House has another chance to be free of liberals.

That’s because, at least at the moment, the potential candidate who stands to glean the greatest number of crossover votes nationwide is none other than corpulent New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

A new Gallup poll shows what many conservatives have known for a long time: Christie is more beloved outside his own party than within it.

Of five Republicans (Christie, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Paul Ryan) whose names Gallup ran past a random sampling of 1,529 Americans, Christie’s actually played better with Democrats than with Republicans. In fact, he was the only Republican for whom Democrats, on balance, held a favorable opinion.

Presumably on the strength of his national exposure following Superstorm Sandy, Christie scored a higher “net favorable” number (37) among Democrats than he did with his 28 rating among Republicans. As a result of all that love from the left, Christie took the poll’s top spot for the GOP candidate with the highest approval rating among Americans as a whole, regardless of party affiliation.

Republicans, on the other hand, preferred both Ryan and Rubio to Christie, with Ryan receiving a 69 percent favorable rating among GOP members.

In terms of name recognition, Christie scored high across political lines. But the Republican whose name was recognized the least — even among members of his own party — is, perhaps, the least “Republican” of the bunch.

That’s Senator Ted Cruz of Texas. Only half the Republicans surveyed even knew who he was.

In a Gallup Poll released in the heart of the gun control debate last April (after months and month of hysterical coverage), only 4% of Americans saw gun control as a priority. What they were (and are) most concerned about is jobs, the deficit, and the overall economy.

And yet…

For nearly six-months, the media ignored America's priorities and obsessively, relentlessly, and shamefully pushed Congress to pass gun control. For a full half-year, the media didn't give a damn about what the American people considered important; they had a culture war to win against the NRA and Red State America. They were also desperate to hand Their Precious Obama another win.

In a poll released last week, however, a full 22% said they consider investigating the IRS, Associated Press, and Benghazi scandals a priority.

And yet…

Now that we know seven times as many Americans consider investigating this trifecta of scandals a higher priority than gun control, what is the corrupt media's response to the GOP investigating this trifecta of scandals…?
