Lupe Moreno Announces Endorsements Of Her 34th Senate District Candidacy

This came over the transom a little while ago from Lupe Moreno for Senate consigliere Art Pedroza:

State Senate Candidate Announces Early Endorsements

SANTA ANA – Lupe Moreno, the longtime Santa Ana resident and nationally recognized immigration activist who is running for the 34th State Senate District, announced her early endorsements over the weekend, after appearing at last Saturday’s “Politics over Principle” (POP) meeting at the Balboa Bay Club, on March 18. Her endorsements include:

    * Jim Gilchrist, Minuteman Founder * Gil Ferguson, Retired Assemblyman * Rose Mary "Rosie" Avila, Santa Ana School Board * Barbara Coe, California Coalition for Immigration Reform * Rabbi, Nachum Shifren, The Surfing Rabbi and Author of "Kill Your Teacher" * Mona Holder, Laguna Hills * Robert Nunez, Stanton * Lawrence Culbertson, San Juan Capistrano * Robin Hvidston, Minutewoman-Upland * Micheal Snavely, Chino Hills * Francisco Jorge, Mojave * Cindy Asar * Alphie & Donald Schenck, Minutemen-Corona * Art Pedroza, former Hispanic Outreach Director for the Republican Party of Orange County (1996-9 * Tim Whitacre, Republican political activist and member of the Orange County GOP Central Committee

Lupe Moreno was not the only GOP candidate to speak at the POP meeting – but she was the only one who merited a standing ovation, according to numerous eyewitness accounts. Republican legislative candidates Tom Harman and Diane Harkey also spoke, but they only received polite applause.

Moreno also collected over $1,700 in campaign contributions, at the POP meeting, with promises of more to come. Moreno's Republican opponent for the 34th State Senate District, Lynn Daucher, was a no-show.

Moreno will be appearing this Wednesday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m., at the California Coalition for Immigration Reform meeting at the Garden Grove Women's Club, 9501 Chapman Ave., Garden Grove. For information call (714) 846-9682.
