The Obama administration wants to terminate the successful 287(g) program
ALERT! The Obama administration wants to terminate the successful 287(g) program.
Tell Congress to save it!
The ICE website describes 287(g) as one of its "top partnership initiatives." It allows local law enforcement officers to collaborate with the agency in apprehending and prosecuting criminal aliens.
Now, the Obama administration wants to gut the program. The new budget cuts all funding for any new jurisdictions to join the program. In fact, the USA Today headline was, "Immigration enforcement program to be shut down."
The 287(g) program has removed dangerous criminals from communities, yet the administration has caved in to the demands on anti-enforcement groups that want to remove this program. Let Congress know that Americans want this tool as part of our efforts to stop illegal immigration.
ACTION NEEDED
Tell your Senators and Representative to restore funding for 287(g). We need the protections of this successful program.
