SAVE Act Hits 100! Another Cosponsor Added to Bill That Would Protect Jobs for Americans

The SAVE Act received its 100th cosponsor when Rep. Michael Turner (R-Ohio) added his name to the long list.

The SAVE Act will make E-Verify mandatory nationwide and increase monitoring of compliance ensuring that only legal workers get jobs during one of the worst jobs depressions in our nation's history.

The bipartisan bill sponsored by Rep. Heath Shuler (D-N.C.) now has 36 Democratic cosponsors and 64 Republican cosponsors.

Rep. Turner is serving his fourth term in the House and has earned a recent immigration-reduction grade of an A.

The SAVE Act (H.R.330 would use currently available tools and resources to increase interior enforcement of federal immigration laws.

In securing the borders, the SAVE Act will:

- add 6,000 border patrol agents, utilizing new technology;

- improve recruitment with focus on former agents and former members
of the Armed Services and Reserves; and

- create a pilot program to increase aerial surveillance, satellite and
equipment sharing with the Departments of Homeland Security and
Defense.

In fighting illegal hiring, the SAVE Act will:

- make E-Verify mandatory for all employers;

- increase monitoring of compliance of the E-Verify system;

- require notification of identity theft; and

- require information sharing between the Social Security Administration,
Department of Homeland Security and the Internal Revenue Service.

In increasing interior enforcement, the SAVE Act will:

- add ICE agents and increase grants to local law enforcement; and

- expedite the deportation process by increasing detention capacity and the number of immigration judges.

I can't wait to see what happens when they start campaigning for the 2010 elections. They will find a way to write in a reversal it if they get voted back in.

Sign up Congresspersons, we need the Save Act and we need it now. HR 3308!

I would be very leary of this. This could used as a Trojan Horse or Prerequisite to justify an Amnesty Push. At this point there is no reason to trust congress. I'm not buying into this at all.

Here, look at this. The Co-Sponsors by Date. Add Heath Shuler as the Sponsor. You can see when they all signed up as CoSponsors, most of them back in July. Only a few since then.

So the 100 announcement is just that with Baird and Turner they reached 100 Co-Sponsors. But look how many there were in July, 88 plus Schuler then 12 since then. I think it's genuine, but that's not to say Obama and Pelosi won't try to manipulate it into Amnesty.

But as you say reciprocity, we should still be vigilant and keep our eyes on this because truly I don't believe we can trust anyone on anything at this point.
