    THANKS TO ALL THAT ATTENDED
    THE 4/7/09 ELECTIONS HEARING
    ON VOTER ID BILLS
    HB 125 & SB 362

EVERY CARD THAT WAS FILLED OUT AND EVERY SEAT FILLED WITH A WARM BODY CLOTHED IN RED TO SHOW VISIBLE SUPPORT FOR VOTER ID WILL MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN THE OUTCOME OF THE 4/7/09 HEARING!!!

Many of our committee hearing attendees were disappointed that some of our elected officials (once again) seemed more interested in grandstanding than in listening to citizens (those pesky little critters they are suppose to represent!). Some citizens drove many hours to share their personal experiences and voice their desires for a strong Photo/Voter ID bill to be implemented ASAP.....not "phased in" as the Chairman suggested.

House Elections Chairman, Todd Smith did a poor job of reining in some of the"visiting"Representatives who sat in on the committee panel. We thank Rep. Linda Harper-Brown for stepping up to the plate to end some very inappropriate attacks & behavior by certain legislators.

As his alert goes out, the Voter ID bills are still pending in committee so it is not too late to contact Chairman Smith and let him know any"phased in plan"is not acceptable and that you expect our bills to be voted out of committee favorably.

Contact Chairman Smith at the House Elections Committee office to voice your disagreement with his plan at:
    Phone: 512-463-0772; OR
Fax to Attn: Chairman Todd Smith via House Sergeant-at-Arms: 512-463-5896

TELL CHAIRMAN SOLOMONS TO STOP PLAYING GAMES WITH OUR JOBS & OUR SAFETY!!!

PLEASE ACT NOW CALL, FAX, EMAIL Chairman Solomons & forward this alert to all your Texas contacts asking them to do the same.

    Rep. Burt Solomons (R-Carrollton)
    Chairman, House State Affairs Committee
    Phone: 512-463-0814 (Committee Office)

    via email to staffer: robert.orr_hc@house.state.tx.us

Fax to Attention: Solomons/State Affairs Committee
    via Sergeant-at -Arms: 512-463-5896

Send a Free Fax (service provided by our friends at the Peter Morrison Report):
    http://www.morrisonreport.com/fax_test/ ... p?faxID=73

OR via e-mail to Solomons at his Rep. office: burt.solomons@house.state.tx.us

Tellhim to give the following bills (listed in priority) a SPEEDY and FAIR hearing. Let him know that you want them voted "favorably" out of his committee:
