Urgent: Tell Reid to Stop Blocking E-Verify

Dear Friend,

E-Verify, our strongest tool in the fight against illegal immigration, is set to expire tomorrow if its not renewed. Senator Jeff Sessions introduced Amendment 604 to the Omnibus Appropiations bill to renew it for five years, but Harry Reid refuses to let it go up for a vote.

Harry Reid claims he supports E-Verify. He's even sending a letter to his constitutents that says,

I strongly believe that every job in our country should go only to those authorized to work in the United States. This is why I strongly support programs like E-Verify that are designed to ensure that employers only hire those who are legally authorized to work in the United States.

Reid knows the American people want American jobs going to Americans, so he won't come out openly against E-Verify. Instead he is doing everything he can to avoid the issue.

We need to act now!

Call up Reid's office at (202) 224-3542 and tell him that with millions of Americans out of work, this is not the time to play games with our jobs. Tell him we want E-Verify renewed for at least five years, no ifs ands or buts. If you have any friends or family in Nevada, make sure you tell them to call too.

Also, call up your Senator [click here] http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_i ... rs_cfm.cfm for the direct lines or call the Capital Switchboard toll free at 1 (866) 220-0044 and ask for your Senator and tell him to demand that Reid allow Sessions' amendment to go up for a vote.

Harry Reid knows where the American people stand on E-Verify, we just need to make sure we know where he stands.
