VITTER DENOUNCES DREAM ACT ON SENATE FLOOR REQUESTS
VITTER DENOUNCES DREAM ACT ON SENATE FLOOR REQUESTS ESTIMATED COSTS FROM CBO
States News Service
December 2, 2010
WASHINGTON, D.C.
The following information was released by Louisiana Senator David Vitter:
U.S. Sen. David Vitter today made the following remarks on the U.S. Senate floor denouncing and criticizing the DREAM Act, legislation that provides a powerful incentive for even more illegal immigration by granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens.
U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is forcing and has announced his intention to bring a new version of the amnesty measure up for a vote.
I am extremely disappointed that Senator Reid intends to try to begin debate on yet another version of the DREAM Act, said Vitter.
Amnesty and economic incentives greatly exacerbate the problem of illegal immigration, and while this bill continues to be disguised as an educational initiative, it is simply another measure that acts as a "payback" for Mr. Reid and offers a path to citizenship for illegals in this country.
This is a very bad idea anytime, and this is an especially bad idea in our current economic climate.
At a time when many American families cannot afford to send their own children to college, this bill is a complete insult to legal tax-paying American citizens whose hard-earned money will be used to finance the education of illegal aliens.
The American people have made it very clear that they want to see the government fulfill its responsibility and enforce America's current immigration laws already on the books and take steps to control illegal immigration not reward bad behavior with educational benefits.
As chairman of the Senate Border Security Caucus, I will not relent in the fight to stop this or any amnesty measure from passing.
Additionally, Vitter today sent a letter to the Congressional Budget Office requesting the estimated cost of the DREAM Act in advance of a vote on the legislation. The text of the letter follows:
December 2, 2010
Mr. Douglas Elmendorf
Director, Congressional Budget Office
Ford Office Building, 4th Floor
Second and D Streets, SW
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Mr. Elmendorf,
In light of recent reports that the DREAM Act in the form of S. 3992 or H.R. 1751 will be voted on in Congress as early as today, December 2, 2010, I respectfully request an official score be produced or released by the Congressional Budget Office.
The DREAM Act would grant amnesty to an estimated 2.1 million illegal aliens, giving them access to in-state tuition rates at public universities, federal student loans, and federal work-study programs.
The most recently introduced version, S. 3992, also requires the Departments of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services to conduct background checks and medical examinations, which will seemingly be funded by the federal government.
It is extremely imperative that Members of Congress and the American people know the estimated costs of the DREAM Act before any single vote is cast on this legislation.
Thanks in advance for your attention to this critical matter. If you have any questions regarding this request, please contact Maggie Harrell of my staff, by calling (202) 224-4623.
I look forward to your prompt response.
Sincerely,
David Vitter
U.S. Senator
(The CBO is stalling as the recent estimates of this DREAM Act legislation the CBO has thus far uncovered will cost U.S. Citizens well over $20 Billion Dollars -- the CBO does not want to release these figures to Vitter).

Re: VITTER DENOUNCES DREAM ACT ON SENATE FLOOR REQUESTS
Here is the CBO's cost estimate for the dream act requested by Vitter
changes would increase revenues by $2.3 billion over 10 years
CBO and JCT estimate that enacting the bill would reduce deficits
by about $1.4 billion over the 2011-2020 period

There are different reports about the timing of the Amnesty vote. Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) was on MSNBC last night rallying illegal alien supporters saying the vote could come anytime today... Friday.
Please get back on the phones to call our refined targets list! Please use our new tips and please focus on the message which has the illegals in an uproar and also making threats.
Please keep repeating this to Congressional offices....
"Please oppose the Dream Act Amnesty because it would displace and replace millions of innocent American students, workers, and voters with illegal aliens!"
Thanks to your efforts yesterday, we have identified 10 of the 83 targeted Democrats who will vote NO on Dream Amnesty! We only need 30 more to win and stop this bill!
Please start your calls today by calling the 10 listed as "Voting No" and say...
"I want to thank Congressman _______ for voting No on the Dream Act Amnesty which would 'displace and replace millions of innocent American students, workers, and voters with illegal aliens!' Please ask him to encourage other Democrats to say No as well."
Once you have thanked the NO votes, proceed to lobby the unknowns.
Here is the activism link for you. We need all of our ALIPAC activist Aces High today!
NEW TIP: We have added towns and zips of district offices beneath the DC contact info. If a staffer challenges you for town and zip to disuade your call, you may give them the ones we provide or you can say "If you are listening to illegal aliens today, you can listen to me because I am an American."
Let's Roll!
