DENVER, Colo. -- Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler has asked the Department of Homeland Security to provide his office with the citizenship status of about 4,500 registered voters.

The Denver Post reports (Secretary of State Gessler asks Homeland Security to ID noncitizens on Colorado voter rolls - The Denver Post ) the 4,500 people provided a noncitizen document, such as a green card, when they applied for a driver's license and then registered to vote.

Gessler's said in a letter last week to Homeland Security Janet Napolitano that he's trying to ensure only U.S. citizens are voting.

Colorado Common Cause executive director Elena Nunez says Gessler's actions could discourage people from voting. But Gessler's spokesman Rich Coolidge says Gessler is obligated to enforce Colorado election law.

It is a felony for non-U.S. citizens to register to vote or to cast a ballot.

It sickens me to the core that Illegals are getting by with so much, Even slaughtering the Integrity of the election itself....The faith I once had in America's voting system, no longer exists...Whomever wins the next election, Especially if its Obama, It will be forever questionable If those votes were 100% given by Legal Americans..

Sadly our system is becoming corrupt and worse many of our politicians appear not to care.

when I became a US Citizen I was asked for my green card just after I had taken the oath. When you are a US Citizen you DO NOT have a green card anymore therefore those who got driver's licenses with green cards ARE NOT US Citizens and the fact they also then registered to vote ( I am assuming it was contemporaneous with get their driver's license) means they committed fraud and possibly also voted illegally if they indeed did vote which is probably easy to verify since every time you vote a record of it exists.

These illegals activists have to be exposed as they are part of a conspiracy to fundamentally transform the US. Hey don't point the finger at me but at Obama, that's what he said he was going to do, 5 days before he was elected and we know his "si se puede" message and telling mothers that their kids will have to learn Spanish. The conspiracy is not me but these radicals who are seeking to recast America.
