15% of illegals leave the U.S. for lack of access to health services.

15 percent of undocumented immigrants –930 thousand– return to Mexico to receive medical attention because in the United States the businesses where they work at do not give them health care, reported Steven P. Wallace, director of the Center of Investigation of the Politics of Health (UCLA) in Los Angeles, California.

In an interview with this newspaper, the also deputy director of the University of California detailed that as opposed to Mexico, in the United States the employees should buy a medical insurance because only 25 percent of industries gives them this benefit.

The United States has the most expensive health care system in the world, he said, therefore medical insurance can cost $200 dollars monthly, and only covers the primary attention, oriented to curative and preventive services.

Data of the Center for Investigation of Health Policy indicated that 64.4 percent of Mexicans immigrants who are less than 10 years old doe not have access to health care services in the United States; whose who are over this age the percentage is of 42.8%; and in the case of those born in the United States it is 23 percent.

This whole article is written based upon the assumption that it's ok for illegal invaders to be working in this country! I gues that's the perception by this mexican rag who seems to believe it's illegal invader bretheren in this country are owed something in the way of health care.

Message to mexico/writer: We do not care that your illegal invaders do not have health care provided to them at their place of employment. The company is breaking the law by hiring them in the first place, and the illegals are certainly breaking the law by being here! Do a story on the millions of American citizens who do not receive health care through their place of employment. Where are they supposed to go for health care? I'm sure mexico could care less about that.

And what about the other 20-30 million illegal invaders in this country. what do they do for health care?

Don't tell me they do without, because I have yet to see of your illegal invader do without anything!

Do they return to the U.S. after receiving Mexican health care?

I think this article is total BS. Illegal immigrants aren't going to go back and forth across the border. It isn't as easy as it used to be.

The illegal alien women are still flooding the county health departments for free prenatal care. I believe a large number of illegal aliens are women who come here never intending to work a single day. This needs to be looked at seriously by all those clamoring for a "guest worker" program.

And in the meantime, there are 40 million American citizens that don't have medical insurance and no one in Washington appears to give a damn. Where do WE go for medical care?

This article reflects the appeasement mentality that exists at UCLA, and all across California for that matter. What seems to be missing is the number that cross for medical care but continue to reside in the US, particularly the near-border areas like Los Angeles. Heck, we already know many cross for cheap medical care, even Americans. But most prefer the higher quality of American hospitals and clinics. It's a matter of poverty rather than health care. It also erroneously assumes the Mexican population here is 6.2 million and that would assume the total illegal population is less than 8 million -- ridiculous.

It's a propaganda piece that tries to marry the illegal alien issue to the socialized medicine issue. As a footnote, clarifying the constant claim of 40 million who don't have medical insurance, it's been well documented that about 10 million of them are illegal aliens. Another 15 million are upper-middle class Americans who CHOOSE not to purchase it. That leaves about 15 million who cannot afford it, about 5%. Conversely, that means 95% of our people are insured, a pretty acceptable number. And everyone knows our medical facilities turn no one away. They send impoverished Americans several notices and simply write them off as a bad debts. We don't need another massive bureaucracy 'cuz the poor already have sufficient care.
