American Apparel's founder, Dov Charney, has been an outspoken opponent of U.S. immigration policies. In a letter to employees, Charney said he was "deeply saddened by the fact that many of you will be leaving the company over the next few days and weeks. Many of you have been with me for so many years, and I just cry when I think that so many people will be leaving the company."
And what did he do as 1,800 LEGAL ciitizens searched desperately for work???? IMO he should be hit with HEAVY fines.

I wonder if this means that they will no longer make the tee-shirts worn by our opposition for their rallys and such.

Well it says there will be fines levied, but what will happen to the persons who hired the illegals ? where is their punishment? And as already mentioned, where will these 1800 people go? Deported or just allowed to get new fraudulent papers?

But on the very bright side maybe 1800 Americans will have a job!

Probably nothing will happen to Charney (the owner). He's an arrogent, rich, anti-American pig...I imagine he will line someone's pockets to avoid punishment, or has already. I mean hey, unfortunately that's the American way if money is concerned. You could learn alot about Charney at his website...despicable piece of crap.

    Sexy marketing or sexual harassment?
For American Apparel CEO Dov Charney, he's just building a new kind of company

Every work day in America, millions of employees spend many of their waking hours with all kinds of bosses. But how many can say they work for a guy like who runs around the office in his underwear? For a CEO who let videotape of himself doing just that go up on the company Web site?

Dov Charney, American Ampparel CEO (on deposition video): There is no evidence to say that you can’t walk around in your underwear all day anywhere in the United States of America.

Meet Dov Charney, the 37-year-old founder and CEO of American Apparel, the ultra-hip chain that sells clothing, and yes, underwear.
