Two of four Chuy’s Mesquite Broiler restaurants in Tucson raided by federal immigration agents last week are open for business again.

Chuy’s locations at 7585 S. Houghton Road and 4499 W. Ina Road have both reopened. The restaurants at 3100 E. Speedway and 6310 E. Tanque Verde Road are still closed, said Danielle Smith, a manager at Chuy’s Ina Road location.

Smith said she didn’t know for sure when they would reopen.

Agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Internal Revenue Service served search warrants at 15 Chuy’s in Arizona and California, including the four in Tucson. The searches coincided with the arrest of the restaurants’ father-son owners, Mark Evenson and Christopher Evenson, as well as company accountant Diane Strehlow on allegations they were knowingly hiring illegal immigrants and paying them under the table.

Another Chuy's, at East 22nd Street at South Kolb Road, has a separate franchise owner and was not involved in the investigation.
