3 arrested in Smith County on immigration, firearm and drug charges

SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KETK) - Three Smith County men have been arrested for possible immigration violations.

The early Thursday morning arrests were a culmination of a joint investigation by the FBI, Smith County Sheriff's Office, ICE and Tyler Police Department.


Officials served two federal arrest warrants on residences in the 5000 block of CR 4180 and the 11000 block of Garland Street in Smith County.


The search revealed numerous firearms, cocaine, methamphetamine and other illicit narcotics in both residences.

The individuals arrested have been identified as Juan Barrientos, 51, Aniceto Saucedo-Alcaraz, 29, and Miguel Avendano-Flores, 42. The three were booked into the Smith County Jail with ICE immigration detainers placed on each of them.


Each of these suspects will also face federal drug and firearm charges
