Three Candidates For Speaker Of The House But Are Any Of Them Tough On The Illegal Alien Invasion?

Posted on October 8, 2015 by Rick Wells in amnesty, Congress, illegals, Immigration, Politics, Take Our Country Back // 0 Comments

As the battle over who will be the next Speaker of the House solidifies there are three candidates in the running who are being discussed as realistic contenders for the position. For Americans who support the rights of citizens over the issuance of unwarranted, inappropriate and illegal privileges to illegal aliens, there are two names which deserve serious scrutiny. Those of Boehner understudy Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Jason Chaffetz (R-UT).
Aside from McCarthy being the reincarnation of and a continuance of the fascist corporate favoritism that has reduced to House to a non-representative collection of phonies answering to corporate and lobbyists rather than the people, he showed extreme weakness and a lack of character in misrepresenting the Benghazi committee as a political witch hunt. Even if that were the case, if someone or the Republican Party were to engage in such tactics, it is an unbelievably reckless and politically devastating act to boast of it on national television. He’s demonstrated he is not the change in leadership that the American people have demanded, a change which was hand-delivered by Rep Mark Meadows (R-NC).
As for Rep Meadows, it was his summary dismissal by another candidate for the Speakership, Rep Jason Chaffetz of Utah, which indirectly led to the current vacancy. While Chaffetz claimed at the time that Boehner was not involved in his decision to remove Meadows from a subcommittee chairmanship, it nonetheless served to unite conservatives in their opposition to the dictatorial style of Boehner’s leadership. The reinstatement of Meadows and his subsequent motion to vacate helped nudge Rep Boehner along the path to resignation. That action against a conservative, apparently designed to shut him up and send the same message to his like-minded colleagues is another reason why Jason Chaffetz may not be the type of conservative, people-first leadership we so desperately need in Congress.
A third candidate, Daniel Webster (R-FL) is also in the running, and unlike the other two, Webster has experience in the position, having served as the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives. On Wednesday, recognition was given to what may well be the most important aspect of the differences between the three men by Rep Steve King (R-IA), in his personal endorsement of Webster.
As reported in Brietbart News, King said of Webster in an email to all of his House colleagues, “I have listened carefully to each of the candidates for Speaker in multiple forums and watched each of them closely over the years. I have concluded it was the right thing for me to nominate Daniel Webster for Speaker last January and it’s the right thing to support him again for Speaker.
I believe he will bring a principled, member-driven approach and transform the culture of the House. Daniel has a proven track record as Speaker of the Florida House and an excellent record opposing amnesty. He is strongly pro-life, pro-marriage and pro Constitution. I hope you will join me in support of Dan for Speaker. Don’t forget he has an excellent political name.”
Rep King, who has a reputation as being one of the most anti-illegal alien and excessive legal immigration hawks in the House, said, stated that Webster has an excellent record opposing amnesty, but is that so?
All three of the Representatives have records which have placed them on the ALIPAC “Cantor List,” a listing which identifies and targets those who have records favorable to acquiescing to the illegal invasion.
While only McCarthy is identified as having voted in favor of illegal Obama amnesty, both Chaffetz and Webster are listed as well as having supported the illegal invasion in other ways. American workers and citizens need and demand solid, no-nonsense, no deception leadership for a change. Why is it such a difficult commodity to come by?
In an October 6th mailing, William Gheen, President of ALIPAC made the following comments regarding the contest for the Speakership. He wrote:
“Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is warning GOP lawmakers not to elect Representatives Jason Chaffetz or Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House to replace John Boehner because both lawmakers support amnesty for illegal immigrants and increases in legal immigration levels!
ALIPAC originally supported Jason Chaffetz when he successfully ran for office against Rep. Chris Cannon by criticizing Cannon’s support for amnesty for illegals. Two years ago ALIPAC dropped Jason Chaffetz from the organization’s endorsements list when Chaffetz changed positions from favoring deportation under our current laws and switched to supporting citizenship and voting rights for millions of illegal aliens!
“A majority of Republican voters, GOP lawmakers, and American citizens oppose the immigration reform amnesty and legal immigration increases that both Chaffetz and McCarthy support! GOP lawmakers would be wise to elect a Speaker that is not just like Boehner and Obama on immigration issues. We hope the GOP lawmakers that oppose amnesty for illegals will mount a third candidate for Speaker.”
That third candidate exists, but we have to wonder if he’s any better than Chaffetz. Either would appear for a variety of reasons to be an improvement over the Boehner clone and loose-lipped McCarthy.
A link to the ALIPAC Cantor List will provide first hand access to the documents which help to tell the story. We really need to get it right this time. Unfortunately, there is little reason to believe that the same anti-citizen forces which have controlled Congress for longer than we know are not already determining the candidates which will be offered and we can be certain, at a minimum there is intense lobbying underway by those illegitimate forces.
It’s amazing, even knowing the mistakes of the past, how difficult it is to attempt to wrest power back into the hands of the American people.
Rep Louie Gohmert, a former Texas State District Court Judge and Chief Justice, has expressed an interest in the past in becoming Speaker and his is a name worthy of more serious consideration, if for no other reason than to keep Eric Holder up at night. He certainly has the persona of someone who represents the people and puts their interests first. His record on immigration is first rate and he does not bow to the elites, as Holder’s disparaging asparagus comments directed at Gohmert in House testimony so vividly demonstrated.

Darrell Issa is thinking about running for Speaker. This man will be amazing as Speaker. He's all business, no-nonsense, believes in liberty, has a pretty good rating with numbersusa for immigration, and has A+ on all the big important items to stop illegal immigration. He's perfect, he's mature, he's accomplished, he's articulate, and he's all business, get the job done type of person.

I love Darrell Issa. Lets examine him and put out an endorsement if you all think he's strong enough on immigration. He's gotten tougher as time and numbers march on.

Darrell Issa Calls For Obama To Restart Deportation Of Dreamers
    Posted: 06/24/2014 4:10 pm EDT

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) is asking colleagues to sign on to a letter to the president demanding he end a program that keeps young people with longstanding ties to the U.S. from being deported.

The letter, which was obtained by The Huffington Post and confirmed by two offices that received it, blames President Barack Obama for a current crisis of unaccompanied minors crossing the border illegally. It specifically singles out his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy, or DACA, which allows young undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children to stay and work legally.

Issa has contacted colleagues asking them to sign the message to Obama by the end of the day on Thursday. Issa's office did not respond to a request for comment.

DACA does not allow immigrants who crossed the border illegally recently to gain legal status -- anyone who entered the country after June 15, 2007, is ineligible -- and Issa acknowledged that in his letter to Obama. But he still said the policy, which has aided more than 550,000 young people so far, is partially to blame for the current crisis.

"[T]he very existence of the program contradicts present law and violates the Constitutional principle of a separation of powers which grants primary law making authority to the Congress," Issa wrote. "The Executive does not get to pick and choose which laws must be enforced and which can be selectively ignored. .. DACA rewards families and individuals who have broken our laws, further encouraging others to seek similar benefits."

Issa wrote later that Obama should "make an explicit public commitment that [he] will not support legislation that extends legal status to newly arriving illegal aliens no matter the age." The immigration reform bill that passed the Senate last year does not allow people who came to the U.S. after the end of 2011 to earn legal status -- meaning children who enter today wouldn't be eligible for that reprieve, either.

Obama's push for immigration reform that would include legal status for undocumented immigrants has stalled in the House of Representatives, which has voted to defund programs such as DACA but avoided other legislation on the issue. Issa was at one point working on his own bill to give temporary legal status to undocumented immigrants, but it was never introduced.

Republicans have said the president's immigration record and support for reform created the view abroad that anyone can come to the U.S. without consequences. The Obama administration has acknowledged that misinformation has circulated, even though the children who have entered recently are ineligible for DACA or legal status under the Senate bill, and say falsehoods are being spread by smugglers. Children who come to the country illegally are put into removal proceedings, although a judge may eventually rule, on a case-by-case basis, that they can stay.

Issa wrote in his letter that Obama should investigate whether there is fraud and abuse in the "generous" asylum system and provide Congress with more data on the recent unaccompanied minor crisis.

The congressman also wrote that Obama should stop a review by Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson into the administration's deportation policies. Obama delayed that review until the end of the summer to give the House of Representatives time to act on reform -- which, so far, looks unlikely to happen -- but has not ruled out future actions to limit deportations.

Issa wrote that Obama's review was encouraging children to immigrate illegally.

"Your continued commitment to circumvent Congress and implement policies contrary to the intent of immigration law sends foreign nationals the false hope that administrative amnesty is possible," he wrote.

Darrell Issa Tells Obama To Forget About Immigration Reform And Deport DREAMers
By: Justin Baragona more from Justin Baragona
    Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014, 6:45 pm

On Wednesday, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), released a letter to the press that he had sent to the White House earlier in the day. The letter, signed by 32 other House republicans, essentially demanded that President Obama proceed with deporting all of the DREAMers. (DREAMers are undocumented immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.) The letter also requested that President Obama forget about comprehensive immigration reform being passed, especially if it includes a pathway to citizenship.

Below is an excerpt from the letter. The entire letter can be read here.

Firstly, we call on you to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program created, without congressional support, by your Administration in June, 2012. While the current program only applies to arrivals prior to 2007, the very existence of the program contradicts present law and violates the Constitutional principle of a separation of powers which grants primary law making authority to the Congress. The Executive does not get to pick and choose which laws must be enforced and which can be selectively ignored. Further, DACA rewards families and individuals who have broken our laws, further encouraging others to seek similar benefits. The DACA program must be immediately ended to send a clear signal to all individuals that our immigration laws will be enforced.

Secondly, you must make an explicit public commitment that you will not support legislation that extends legal status to newly arriving illegal aliens no matter the age. Secretary Johnson’s statement that S. 744, the Senate’s immigration proposal, would not confer benefits to the newly arriving UACs is insufficient to mitigate the popular belief that a pathway to citizenship will be available to any individual in the United States. We request that you remove from consideration any preferential treatment for individuals who have recently illegally crossed our borders.
