A federal judge sentenced a 42-year-old man caught with meth in Lincoln to more than 15 years in prison Tuesday.

Gustavo Armenta Trujillo had been removed from the country previously on a drug charge when lawmen searched him and his vehicle Jan. 28.

After they found eight plastic bags of varying sizes with a total of more than 50 grams (1 3/4 ounces) of methamphetamine and $697 cash, he was indicted for possession with intent to deliver 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

At the Lancaster County jail a day after his arrest, Armenta admitted to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent he had been removed from the United States in January 2012 after serving prison time on a drug charge and had re-entered without permission.

On Tuesday, Senior Judge Richard G. Kopf sentenced him to 15 years and eight months on the drug charge and six years and five months for illegal re-entry. The sentences are to be served concurrently.

Armenta pleaded guilty in March. At the end of his sentence, he'll be removed again.

Prosecutors said he had a number of aliases, including Gustavo Trujillo Armenta, Gustabo Trujillo Armenta, Gustavo Armenta-Trujillo, Carlos Mendoza-Armenta, Marcos Armenta Valdez, Miguel Carasco Perez and Miguel Contreras Perez.
