470 Marijuana-Filled Bundles Found Inside Tractor-Trailer

EL PASO, Texas -- More than 470 marijuana-filled bundles were discovered inside a tractor-trailer in the commercial cargo facility at the Bridge of the Americas, officials said.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers made the bust on Saturday when a drug-sniffing dog alerted officials to the drugs, said CBP officials.

The seizure collected 531 pounds of marijuana. CBP officers said they arrested the driver, 39-year-old Sergio Hernandez Rascon, of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.

He was turned over to ICE-HSI special agents after the case was accepted for federal prosecution.

He was booked into the El Paso County Jail and is currently being held without bond.
