5 Found Dead In Possible Murder-Suicide
Officials: Mother, Father, 3 Children Found Fatally Shot

HOUSTON -- Houston police said they found five bodies inside a northeast Houston home.

They said a family of five -- a father, a mother and three children -- were found inside the home located 10125 Stonewood St. and Madera Road.

Lt. Dan Harris said the father had a .22 caliber rifle by his side.

The woman and a boy who looked to be about 8 years old were dead inside an addition attached to the porch. The two other children, a girl and boy who were both toddlers, were dead inside a different addition off the porch.

Police said they were waiting for the medical examiner to inspect the bodies.

Homicide detectives were investigating the home. They said it could possibly be a murder-suicide, but the exact cause of death was not released.

Neighbors said the father was an immigrant construction worker from Central America. They said they were not sure if he was working legally in the U.S.

One neighbor said the father was a good dad with his young kids.

Officials said it appears that the shooting occurred 24 hours ago. A wooden fence circles the house, preventing passersby from seeing the house, they said.

A neighbor looked over the fence Saturday and called authorities at about 3:30 p.m., police said.
