ACORN office in Vegas raided in voter fraud probe

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Nevada state authorities are raiding the Las Vegas headquarters of an organization that works to get low-income people to vote.

A Nevada secretary of state's office spokesman said Tuesday that investigators were looking for evidence of voter fraud at the office of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.

No one was at the ACORN office when state agents arrived with a search warrant and began carting records and documents away.

Secretary of State spokesman Bob Walsh says ACORN is accused of submitting multiple voter registrations with false and duplicate names - including completed registrations using the names of Dallas Cowboys football players.

The raid comes two months after state and federal authorities announced the formation of a task force to pursue election fraud allegations in Nevada.

Thousands of dead registered to vote in Connecticut

An investigation by students at the University of Connecticut found that 8,500 dead people remained registered to vote in the state, and about 300 of them appeared to have voted since death, the Hartford Courant reports.

State officials blamed "clerical errors" for the 300 discrepancies uncovered by the students in April and say the ensuing review has found no evidence of fraud. The investigation remains open and places partial blame on ineffective death notification systems. Connecticut officials have taken 5,300 names of the deceased off voter registration lists since the student investigation and continue to do so, but the review will not be done by Election Day.

"While we want to remove dead people from the rolls, we don't want to be overzealous and disenfranchise people," Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz told the Courant.

Excellent point JamesW!! And I agree.....it would be very interesting to find out

This is not the first time or even the second or third.they should be shut down and people need to go t prison.

..and rest assured that NONE of the fraudulent voter registrations are in favor of the Republicans,....ACORN is hired by Democrats to register as many minorities including illegal aliens to vote
