Alert! Ad Claims Ever-Increasing Traffic Caused by Ever-Increasing Population

Defeats Efforts to Conserve Fuel, Natural Resources and Infrastructure Capacity

SANTA BARBARA - Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) and its partners in America's Leadership Team for Long Range Population-Immigration-Resource Planning unveiled an ad campaign this week to raise America's awareness of the effects of population growth. The ads will appear in major national publications.

"If population growth continues at its present pace, our faltering quality of life will continue to erode. Americans won't be able to conserve their way out of the emerging overpopulation crisis," said Diana Hull, the organization's President.

"Population growth is decimating the gains that the United States has made in energy conservation and environmental protection. In major metropolitan areas, traffic has descended into perpetual gridlock, and overcrowding strains public schools, hospitals and social services. Water shortages and severe drought imperil tens of millions of Americans. Despite the staggering consequences that Americans endure from rapidly increasing population; cars jamming our roads, out-of-control building and sprawl and vanishing resources, our elected officials continue to fail to make the obvious connections and then act, Hull continued."

The United States now has a population of more than 300 million people, a number that is projected to jump by another 100 million in 30 years. If nothing is done to halt this increase, the U.S. will face a population of 600 million people by the end of this century.

More than 80% of population growth, nationally, will continue to be a direct result of immigration and immigrant births. In California that increase accounts for virtually 100 percent of that growth.

This national ad campaign is the first salvo in a long-term campaign by CAPS and its partners to raise public awareness of the magnitude of growth-inducing problems and their source, to ensure that elected officials and candidates for public office will no longer be able to ignore this most important issue of our time.

I find it absolutely amazing that so many Americans are content to just sit by and watch the country deteriorate before their very own eyes. This is just crazy!

California is short of money and the water shortage is getting worse and they say food will be rationed and they still won't stop the flow of more people coming here. Whats wrong with these people? Are all of our politicians stupid?

I am more than glad to see this coming out in ads by CAPS...but even this is a politically correct ad. It doesn't mention the millions of illegals from many countries or the anchor babies.
Even legal immigration has to be a lot less in my estimation.
Too many Americans just do not get the message that there is a huge difference between immigrants and Illegal immigrants.
Their minds must be on permanent vacation as they dippity do through life with blinders on.

I don't know what it is going to take to wake the people of our country up.
We spent way too many years trusting the government to do what is right for America. All of us here know that just is not the case any longer.
We will have to work hard to get the right people elected to the House and Senate that will do the right things for America since the three running for President want to bring in more and more people and give a path to citizenship to the one's here illegally.
We are in for a heck of a fight for years to come.
