Alabama’s New Immigration Law Is a Disaster for the Stateâ

Top 10 Reasons Alabama’s New Immigration Law Is a Disaster for the State’s Economy

Workers Fleeing the State Are Also Taxpayers and Customers

By Center for American Progress Immigration Team | November 18, 2011

The immigration law is much worse than Jefferson County's bankruptcy as far as industrial recruiting. At some point, Jefferson County [the most populous county in the state] will come out from bankruptcy. But we may be stuck with this destructive immigration law from here on.

    - David Bronner, chief of Alabama Retirement Systems.

Alabama’s new immigration law, H.B. 56, will destroy the state’s economy. Its “show your papersâ€

Hmmm. . .if*Americans are so racist, why do so many*people want to live*here??* One would think we wouild need border walls to keep them here under racist rule rather than building walls to keep them out!

    Center for American Progress www.americanprogress.org

The Center for American Progress is a progressive[1] public policy research and advocacy organization. Its website states that the organization is "dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through progressive ideas and action."[2] It has its headquarters in Washington D.C.[3]

Its President and Chief Executive Officer is John Podesta, who served as chief of staff to then U.S. President Bill Clinton. Located in Washington, D.C., the Center for American Progress has a campus outreach group, Campus Progress, and a sister advocacy organization, the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Citing Podesta's influence in the formation of the Obama Administration, a November 2008 article in Time stated that "not since the Heritage Foundation helped guide Ronald Reagan's transition in 1981 has a single outside group held so much sway."[4]

Except for the people that have been making money using illegals, a large percentage of the the people that live in Alabama are happy with the law.

Anothere totally misleading statement about projects being cancelled...Here's the real reason for the bank bldg.

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- BBVA Compass said today it has abandoned plans to build a new office tower in Birmingham, opting instead for a $15 million renovation of its operations center off Clairmont Avenue.

"We are not going to build," said Jim Heslop, the Birmingham-based bank's human resources director. "We are staying with the Daniel Building as our corporate headquarters."

... considered erecting a new office tower on the site of the vacant Liberty National Building.

Now, the company says it plans to pour resources into the Harry B. Brock Administrative Center, near Highland Golf Course. Heslop said the plan is to reconfigure and enlarge work spaces so that an additional 600 BBVA Compass workers can fit in the Brock Center, up from about 1,200 now.

GOLDEN DRAGON is having second thoughts because of a lawsuit involving the 20 million tax credit it was supposed to get. Neither of these two companies decisions have anything to do with illegal immigration law!

As far as the State losing tax revenue. Look at what IA cost the U.S.
$113,000,000,000 - This year's cost of US illegal immigration. Approximately 75% of that cost is absorbed by the states.

$1117 - The average amount you and your family paid in taxes this year to support illegals.

$52,000,000,000 - The cost of educating the children of illegals. This is by far the single largest cost to the American taxpayer.

$2,700 - The average dollar amount a single illegal household costs the US federal government.

51% - The percentage of Mexican immigrant households that use at least one major welfare program. 28% use more than one.

1,400,000- The number of illegal immigrant households that use at least one major welfare program. (food stamps, WIC, school lunch, Medicaid, TANF, SSI, and public/rent-subsidized housing)

Charles Manswer, an information technology businessman, cancelled a 10-day golf vacation to Alabama with 11 associates. One of his associates was born in Puerto Rico and another is a British citizen, and they were concerned about being hassled about their legal status.
This statement is ludicrous and sounds like a total fabrication. Maybe the British guy has a expired visa??

The institute receives approximately $25 million per year in funding from a variety of sources, including individuals, foundations, and corporations. From 2003 to 2007, the center received about $15 million in grants from 58 foundations. Major individual donors include George Soros, Peter Lewis, Steve Bing, and Herbert M. Sandler. The Center receives undisclosed sums from corporate donors.[5]

Wal-Mart is a major funder of the Center for American Progress. In 2006, George Soros gave them a 3,000,000 grant. Soros controls so many lib orgs., at some point most all of them go back to him.

Alabama's immigration law like Arizona's and Georgia's is the best thing that's happened to the state in decades. Just give it time for all the dust to settle and the benefits to shine through.
