I was under the belief that all employees in the US required an I-9 on every employee and if all these jobs were attained through fraud she deserves deportation and other criminal charges. The absolute gall for this editorial writer to portray her as a victim. I maintain that anyone brought here as a child had years to get legal status and failure to do so, shame on them and shame on their parents or spouse when these efforts were never taken and they made a CHOICE to live under false identity and hiding.
Illegal aliens remain exempt from American laws, while they DEMAND American rights...

She had been using a Social Security card with someone else's name of necessity. Otherwise she could not work.
"out of necessity"! How dare she steal someone's idendity and a job and declare it was out of necesssity. ITS A CRIME! These people arent complete idiots. They know its a crime to use another's id to get a job. THEY JUST DONT CARE. Enforce the law and deport every last one of these theives.

You are right ButterBean these people have low morals and this absolutely proves it !! This person must think it is fine to shop lift, break into houses etc as long as it is"Out of Necessity" These are the people Demanding to become USA Citizens. We are in a world of hurt if they are granted Citizenship for a number of reasons dishonesty being high on the list.

What bothers me is if any American did that to get a job they would be arrested even if they were doing it to feed their kids.

Got that right, swatchick. But I think the powers that be operate under the impression that American citizens know better, while the poor, poor illegal immigrants don't know any better. Otherwise, it would be racial, ethnic, religious profiling, and we can't have that according to the folks at LaRaza, ACLU, SPLC,...
Innocent until proven guilty apparently has taken on one meaning for Americans (who seem to be guilty a lot more than illegal aliens) and another for those with no right to be here. Guess we are losing.
