I was under the belief that all employees in the US required an I-9 on every employee and if all these jobs were attained through fraud she deserves deportation and other criminal charges. The absolute gall for this editorial writer to portray her as a victim. I maintain that anyone brought here as a child had years to get legal status and failure to do so, shame on them and shame on their parents or spouse when these efforts were never taken and they made a CHOICE to live under false identity and hiding.

Got that right, swatchick. But I think the powers that be operate under the impression that American citizens know better, while the poor, poor illegal immigrants don't know any better. Otherwise, it would be racial, ethnic, religious profiling, and we can't have that according to the folks at LaRaza, ACLU, SPLC,...
Innocent until proven guilty apparently has taken on one meaning for Americans (who seem to be guilty a lot more than illegal aliens) and another for those with no right to be here.
