Anti-illegal immigration group: Facebook blocking ads for anti-Obama protests

On Tuesday, the anti-illegal immigration group Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC)accused Facebook of blocking ads for an upcoming anti-Obama protest set for this Saturday.
Additionally, the group said that Facebook is "blocking anyone not already invited to the event from finding the main National Protest Against Obama event page if they search for it." Several "clone" event pages have been set up and, ALIPAC says, those can be easily found by anyone.
"Also," ALIPAC said, "Facebook is preventing Obama protest leaders from banning and stopping pro Obama activists who are attacking the event page with vulgarity, spam posts, misinformation, and violent threats."

ALIPAC says Facebook interfering with event, ads

ALIPAC posted a YouTube video it says documents the attempts by Facebook to "actively" interfere with the event.
According to the video, the group has paid for the ads, but Facebook has yet to run them, saying they are "pending review." The ads have been reportedly under review for several days.
William Gheen, president of ALIPAC, said in the video that one ad was suspended because someone objected to the picture that was used in the ad. Gheen said that the last time the ad ran was Feb. 9.
According to Gheen, the group has spent thousands of dollars on Facebook ads.
The organization says in the video that these problems have been brought to Facebook's attention, but the social media site has remained silent.
The video also alleges that Facebook has blocked opponents of the president from sharing their posts and updates.
This is not the first time Facebook has been accused of singling out conservatives.
In January, the social media giant targeted the fan page for "Chicks on the Right," threatening it with closure. After Fox News' Todd Starnes reported the incident, Facebook backed off, chalking it up to "human error."
A number of grassroots conservatives have complained about censorship on the site, and many have contacted Examiner saying they have been prevented from commenting on posts or sharing links.
As a result, Facebook-like alternatives like Tea Party Community and WePluribUS have sprung up.
The video put together by ALIPAC can be seen here.

One problem with some of the new journalism is that their workers have not really been trained to practice "journalistic objectivity." As reporters, journalists are not expected to be authorities on every subject that they cover. Journalists are - or used to be - expected to seek different opinions on the meaning of important subjects. When they do that, they are practicing journalistic objectivity.

So often we find that people are simply pushing their political beliefs. And criticizing 'Bama, no matter how outrageous his statements, is just not permitted.

Facebook Caught Censoring Protests Against Obama Events

Facebook is clearly blocking ALIPAC from running ads to increase attendance for the event.
    February 13, 2013

    Rename it “Farcebook”…

    Americans for Legal Immigration PAC

This video seen below was hastily assembled to document that Facebook is actively interfering with the efforts to organize National Protests Against Barack Obama in all 50 state capitols on Sat Feb 16 11am to 1pm. This video documents 3 different ways Facebook is actively interfering with event planning efforts on behalf of the Obama administration.

You can view the Facebook event page at this link… https://www.facebook.com/events/4653…ref=ts&fref=ts

Video of documentation of Facebook censorship (please share with others) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-ZTINjI1Sc

While authorizing or “pending reviews” of new ads or ad changes on Facebook usually take a few minutes or hours, Americans for Legal Immigration PAC’s ads for the Obama protests have been “pending review” unnecessarily for days!

Facebook is clearly blocking ALIPAC from running ads to increase attendance for the event.

Also, Facebook is preventing Obama protest leaders from banning and stopping pro Obama activists who are attacking the event page with vulgarity, spam posts, misinformation, and violent threats.

Also, Facebook is blocking anyone not already invited to the event from finding the main National Protest Against Obama event page if they search for it. Only those already invited can search and find it.

Several new, and unauthorized, clone events with hardly any attendees have sprung up and these fake event pages can be found in Facebook search results while the official page cannot be seen.
