Anti-immigration steps encourage foreigners to stay in U.S.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Restrictions to keep illegal immigrants from entering the United States are having the perverse effect of encouraging those who are already here to stay by any means necessary, a new University of Florida study finds.

The culprit is tightened post 9-ll security, which has prompted immigrants to skip visits to their homelands because of the risk of not being allowed back into the U.S., said UF anthropology professor Maxine L. Margolis.

“These draconian measures do not deter undocumented immigrants from trying to enter the country so much as discourage those who are already here from returning home,â€

There's not much difference between staying put here and going back and forth. I'd rather they stay here.... easier to catch 'em.

After reading the DAP board, this article is not far from the truth. I have read numerous posts where they appear adamant about NOT EVER LEAVING and they have convinced themselves that because they were brought here as children they have rights to fight for

They also have the laws and the loopholes and flaws in our Visa systems down to a science.

While many will leave out of fear, a lot of them will take a chance getting caught rather than returning to their respective cesspools, especially those who were either starving or have had anchor babies and the hope of yet another amnesty proposal getting past us.

The good news is that those politicians who thought pandering to hispanics was the best way to get elected as well as the MSM has finally awoken from their slumber and all are now scrambling to switch gears and (pretend to) join our side.

Typically, Brazilian immigrants in the Northeast load up in minivans and drive to states such as Delaware, Virginia and North Carolina, which do not require a green card or valid Social Security card for a license, but some have traveled as far as the West Coast, she said.
It still angers me that in North Carolina illegals can still get a driver's license. When the NC assembly gets back into session I want to wage a full scale call, write and fax in to put a stop to it as well as pass a few laws such as those working for or contracted by the state prove they are in the country legally. It's time the elected officials in North Carolina got in line with those who voted them in and stop North Carolina from being a haven and mecca for illegal immigrants.
