Argentine man held for extradition
A 31-year-old man wanted for murder in Argentina was arrested last week in Miami, officials from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcements said.
Jorge Marcelo Almaraz, an Argentine national, entered the United States through Miami in April 2001 under the Visa Waiver Program.
But in February 2004, Argentine authorities issued a warrant for Almaraz's arrest.
He faces charges that he and an accomplice beat a man unconscious, then bound and gagged the man. The man suffocated. If found guilty under Argentine law, he faces 25 years in prison.
He is awaiting deportation at the Krome Processing Center.Support our FIGHT AGAINST illegal immigration & Amnesty by joining our E-mail Alerts at http://eepurl.com/cktGTn
