ARMORED BLACKHAWKS HEADING TO TEXAS BORDER IN WAKE OF MEXICAN ATTACK ON US CHOPPER

    by ILDEFONSO ORTIZ10 Jun 20152

MCALLEN, Texas–Just days after Mexican drug traffickers shot down a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Helicopter on the Texas border, Breitbart Texas has learned that the agency will now send two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters to continue surveillance operations in the area.

As Breitbart Texas previously reported, a CBP Office of Air and Marine Helicopter in Laredo came under fire from Mexican traffickers using what appeared to be AK-47 rifles last week, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing.

The fact that the pilot was not wearing his vest had laid it nearby saved his life, as the shot which came from the ground easily pierced the thin metal of the aircraft, but was stopped by the vest.

The brazen attack by Mexican drug traffickers sparked outrage among congressional leaders, who traveled to Laredo to learn about the realities of securing the border,Breitbart Texas previously reported.

In response to the attack, CBP will be sending two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters to Laredo. Unlike the EC 120 from the shooting incident which was pierced by gunfire, the new helicopters are armored against “small arms fire,”

    Congressman
    Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX)
announced in a short news release. An official statement received as this went to press reads as follows:

CBP plans to send two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters to south Texas in the wake of last Friday’s helicopter shooting incident. The Blackhawk is armored against small arms fire of the sort used in the recent incident, carries a larger crew than the EC120 helicopter currently used in the area, and is well suited for operating in a higher threat environment. The move is expected to occur this week; CBP continuously reviews the conditions of the border environment and deploys its resources accordingly.

That is a very modest beginning, or is it even a beginning? Probably another bluff.

Folks, it's time to end the foreign cartel drug trade in our country, and there is no amount of arms or helicopters or soldiers or police officers that can do that. There's only one way to do it and that is put them out of business by legalizing our own market, regulating it, taxing it under the FairTax, and using part of the FairTaxes only drugs users pay to better educate on the real risks and consequences of using drugs, and provide free rehab on demand without stigma to anyone who wants or needs it.

The trade needs to be a domestic only trade, no imports or exports to avoid any and all international implications or complications, and the entire business from field to factory to distribution to retail sales needs to owned and operated by US Citizens Only.

That shuts down the foreign drug cartels, that shuts down at least 50% of illegal immigration, that ends the expense of arresting pot and coke users, it eliminates the vast majority of deaths due to over-dose which is usually the result of bad mixes and not an intentional or willful act just bad crap, it informs in real ways with real facts not fear-driven drama no one pays any attention to, it recoups over $300 billion a year for our economy that is now lost to foreign cartels and black market operations, and yes, it provides some net new tax revenue.

It also restores the lives of the millions of Americans who careers and livelihoods have been ruined by a felony drug charge, and reunites families broken apart by the rampant incarceration of certain groups of drug users.

It's a win win win win deal from A to Z, and the very best that we can do for the group of Americans who for whatever reason have an affinity to use recreational drugs. It doesn't stop drug use, it doesn't change addiction figures, but it stops the harm the War on Drugs has added to the problem. The War on Drugs has had no positive impact or influence on this activity, it grows every year with the population, addiction rates are the same today as they were in 1913 when the first anti-drug laws were passed, it protects your children and relatives who use drugs from dealing with criminals and cops trying to meet their quotas and otherwise protects them to the same extent society protects them from cigarettes and alcohol, the rest is up to you as parents, spouses, friends and family.

There is some very good information that every American should learn at the website for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition:

CONGRESSMAN FIRES BACK AT CRITICS OVER BLACKHAWK HELICOPTERS SENT TO BORDER

    by ILDEFONSO ORTIZ12 Jun 201531

The announcement of two armored helicopters being sent to the Texas border just days after Mexican drug traffickers shot down a government helicopter, coupled with the signing of a new bill strengthening security in Texas, have sparked controversy in Mexico.

Mexico’s foreign relations secretariat issued a statement expressing their disapproval of the Texas measure, stating that it hurt relations between their country and the United States. Mexico’s criticism of the measure came just hours before U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed to Breitbart Texas that they were sending two armored Blackhawk helicopters to the border city of Laredo.

The announcement spread like wildfire through Mexico, sparking much debate, particularly in the social media pages of that country’s news outlets, where sentiments varied from support to outrage at what they called the militarization of the border.

In an apparent response to the critics, U.S. Congressman

    Rep. Filemon Vela (D-TX)
fired back. “Out of deference to Mexico’s sovereignty, we have largely deferred to their government to effectively control violence in Matamoros and Tamaulipas. Those efforts have largely failed,” the congressman said in a prepared statement to Breitbart Texas.

As Breitbart Texas previously reported, last week a group of Mexican drug traffickers fired on an Office of Air and Marine U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter, forcing it into an emergency landing.
“When Mexican bullets are aimed across the river at United States law enforcement, that changes the game,” Vela said. “We cannot stand for such activity, and I fully support U.S. Customs and Border protection’s decision to send Blackhawk helicopters to protect our men and women in the field. I hope it is enough.”

As previously reported by Breitbart Texas, Vela, along with U.S. Congressman

    Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT)
, sent a joint letter to Secretary of State John Kerry demanding answers about the out of control violence in Mexico, and asking if U.S. Consulates in the border cities where the violence is taking place should even remain open.

ARMORED BLACKHAWKS ARRIVE AT TEXAS BORDER

    by BRANDON DARBY13 Jun 20154

Armored Blackhawk helicopters have arrived at the Texas border with Mexico in response to the recent attack on a U.S. helicopter from Mexican soil.

As Breitbart Texas first reported, a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) helicopter was participating in stopping a well-organized drug trafficking effort that involved individuals on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. Shots were fired from the Mexican side on the CBP helicopter and it was forced down after sustaining damage.

Border Patrol agent Hector Garza spoke with Breitbart Texas on the matter in his role as president of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) Local 2455. He stated, “If Breitbart Texas hadn’t reported on this very serious matter, the CBP would have likely kept it from the public. Texans and other Americans would not have known that people from the Mexican side of the border had tried to shoot down one of our aircraft and kill federal agents.”

He continued, “We are very grateful to finally have armored helicopters. Our lives are at great risk and political forces often attempt to portray the border areas as safe and okay. Clearly they are not safe and this is a moment where the actions of CBP management have placed the safety of agents above the feelings of the Mexican government.”

The Mexican government acted with outrage when knowledge of the armored helicopters being sent to the border first broke.

Even though the Mexican government uses Blackhawk helicopters to patrol their side of the border, the U.S. using them sparked Mexico’s foreign relations secretariat to issue a statement. As Ildefonso Ortiz reported:

Mexico’s foreign relations secretariat issued a statement expressing their disapproval of the Texas measure, stating that it hurt relations between their country and the United States. Mexico’s criticism of the measure came just hours before U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed to Breitbart Texas that they were sending two armored Blackhawk helicopters to the border city of Laredo.

The announcement spread like wildfire through Mexico, sparking much debate, particularly in the social media pages of that country’s news outlets, where sentiments varied from support to outrage at what they called the militarization of the border.

This is not the first instance of hypocrisy from the Mexican government on border issues. Various Mexican officials have long blamed their internal violence and corruption on the U.S. demand for drugs. They have insisted that the demand is the problem and the U.S. to blame. However, they routinely insist that their internal gun violence and their demand for firearms is a result of U.S. supply, not their own demand for firearms.

To and for me, it makes more sense to defend our border than Iraq's border. Oh, the Iraq war was to be a 30 day cake walk. that didn't happen, but defending Americans under attack makes more sense that defending middle-easterners.
