Carl Mumpower says a resolution on illegal immigration is not strong enough and does not address the issue at a local level. The Asheville City Councilman cast the lone dissenting vote against an illegal immigration resolution during Council's meeting Tuesday night. A number of people came out to share concerns on the issue -- with about 13 Asheville residents speaking out against "illegals" and about ten voicing opinions in favor of "illegals." The resolution asks the City of Asheville's federal representatives to approve tougher laws on illegal immigration.
