MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- Two men were arrested after a boat filled with nearly a ton of drugs washed up on the shores of Manhattan Beach.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials spotted the vessel at about 4 a.m. moving along the coast. Border Patrol official Jaime Ruiz said about an hour later, authorities spotted the boat on the beach near 44th Street and Ocean Avenue.
Authorities say the boat contained approximately 1,800 pounds of drugs, including marijuana. Also found on board were two life vests, water bottles and fuel cans.
Several law enforcement agencies were on the scene investigating, including the FBI, DEA and Border Patrol.
The identities of the two men were not immediately released. Authorities say they were discovered hiding in some bushes about 800 yards from where the boat was found.
