Border Patrol agents recover bodies of 9 illegal immigrants

U.S. Border Patrol agents have recovered the bodies of nine illegal immigrants from throughout Southern Arizona over the holiday weekend.

It pushed the number of known immigrant deaths to 135, higher at this point than in any previous year in Arizona.

The body of one illegal immigrant was found Saturday morning south of Three Points and another died as rescue agents performed CPR on him.

On Saturday night, agents found a woman who slipped into convulsions south of Vamori on the Tohono O'odham Nation south of Sells. She later died at Tucson Medical Center.

Agents discovered another body in Comobabi on the Tohono O'odham Nation late Saturday night.

The body of a woman was found Monday morning in Ak Chin, southwest of Tucson, and a Border Patrol pilot spotted two bodies three hours later west of Ajo.

Santa Cruz County deputies came across the body of another illegal immigrant on Monday afternoon and Cochise County sheriff's deputies found the body of a 25-year-old Mexican man on Monday evening east of Douglas.

On Tuesday, agents encountered an illegal entrant who told them about a woman who had collapsed two miles east of Naco.
