Fourteen suspected illegal immigrants are in custody, two of them in the hospital, after coming ashore near MacArthur Beach State Park in North Palm Beach, U.S. Border Patrol Operations Officer Frank Miller said.

The group is believed to have been smuggled to U.S. shores from the Bahamas and includes 12 Haitians, 1 person from the Dominican Republic and another from India, Miller said. They arrived about 2 a.m.

Authorities have the boat and continue searching for others who were involved in the operation, he said.

The two who were taken to the hospital were thought to be suffering from dehydration and were expected to be released to Border Patrol this morning.
