    Broward County Deputy Shot

This man which I would rather call an animal shot an undercover Broward County Sheriff's Deputy at 11:49 am yesterday. The deputy was shot on the right side of the head and is in very critical condition. I will post the article as well but take a look at his arrest information the 3rd charge is an immigration hold.

Suspect in Broward detective shooting charged with attempted murder

Moments before he was shot on the side of the head, Broward Sheriff's Office Det. Maury Hernandez was trying to apprehend a motorcyclist who was blowing through red lights in the Pembroke Park area on Monday morning, according to reports and dispatch recordings released today.

Maury Hernandez, 28, of Cooper City, a five-year veteran of the department, was in extremely critical condition at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood after undergoing surgery on Monday, Sheriff Ken Jenne said.

The biker and suspected shooter has been identified as David Maldonado, 23, of Miramar, who allegedly told investigators he ran away from Hernandez because he wanted to witness the upcoming birth of his child instead of sitting in a jail cell.

Officers gather as one as a brother goes down — again
Grim-faced authorities on Tuesday played a dispatch tape that began with Hernandez alerting his department he was going on duty to make a traffic stop. The tape later depicted chaos as the dispatcher tried to reach Hernandez repeatedly with no response.

"Office down!" yelled one officer. "Officer down!"

The recording ended minutes later when a Hollywood police officer said he found Maldonado inside a small meter room of Hollywood condo complex.

On Tuesday, investigators determined that Maldonado fired a .45 caliber pistol twice as Hernandez gave chase on foot, striking the deputy once from about 40 yards away.

"There are certain people who live in this community who don't value human life," said Jenne during Tuesday's press conference. "We have a little bit of dignity that died a little bit when those two rounds were fired."

Maldonado remained in jail, charged with attempted first-degree murder and violation of probation. He was ordered held without bond Tuesday morning. Maldonado's appointed attorney, Assistant Public Defender Michael Glickstein, invoked his client's right to remain silent and said Maldonado was not to be interviewed without his lawyer present. Glickstein also said his client had suffered some injuries during his Monday arrest and asked that photos be taken at the jail of the alleged wounds. The judge agreed with the request.

Jenne said Maldonado never confessed to shooting Hernandez.

According to reports, Hernandez was on his way to an undercover operation at a retail store in the West Hollywood area at about 11:30 a.m. Monday when he noticed Maldonado in a yellowish motorcycle drive through a number of red lights along Pembroke Road. Hernandez followed the man in his unmarked Dodge Stratus and never turned on his emergency lights.

Hernandez caught up with the biker at a motorcycle shop where deputies say Maldonado took off his shirt and tried to blend in with a small crowd.

A witness told deputies he saw Hernandez pull up to the shop, identified himself as a deputy and flashed his badge. Hernandez then told Maldonado that he saw him running red lights, according to the witness.

Before Hernandez could do anything, authorities said Maldonado pushed the deputy and began running. A witness later said he saw Maldonado turn around and open fire.

Nowhere in the Sun-Sentinel newspaper does it mention his arrest record or the immigration hold. Shameful reporting to the point that it seems it was intentionally left out.

Odds are he's not an illegal alien. Remember the hyphenated last name rule is a good indicator and his first name is David.
Illegal aliens remain exempt from American laws, while they DEMAND American rights...

Alot of immigrants used changed their names or went by the English version. Many people within my ethnic community changed their first names using the English equivalent or shortened their last names. With illegals they often do have fake or stolen ID.

An immigration hold is placed on someone for breaking immigration law or has a deporation order on them. There are other reasons as well but I am not aware of that.
