    You're preaching to the choir.

This must be the article they were talking about on Pags' show yesterday.
its dated 2007 but it gives you a good idea of this Prewett guy's mindset:

Ray Prewett, who lives in Mission, Tex., and runs a trade group for citrus farmers, leaned in.

Without enough immigrant workers "all the farms will move to Mexico," said Prewett, who was preparing to meet with Sen. John Cornyn (R). The senator has said that he has serious concerns about the immigration deal, and last year he voted against comprehensive restructuring. "We need to go into these offices and say we need this now. . . . We know they won't vote for it, but we have to tell them not to stand in the way," Prewett said.

I am tired of having to hear whining about how lack of or getting rid of illegal aliens working these farms will destroy this countrys agricultural base, and the farmers will move their operations. There are legitimate ways to service harvest and everything that is necessary to contain them. These farms are not moving to Mexico or anywhere else. The dirt is here, the water is here and the packing sheds are here. Big corporations might, but not the little guys. The Bracero program worked for years in this country and I am old enough to know how well. The MSM feeds into this lie and they don't tell the rest of the story.

There was some discussion on Joe Pags' radio show yesterday morning.
about this guy. He was saying that the agricultural industry will collapse if
we start cracking down on illegals working in the fields. I've been trying
to find an online reference to that statement but so far I've come up
    empty handed.

Of course we know that those farmers who have been playing it legal all
this time will survive and we may have to pay a little more for our lettuce
but in the long run the benefits outweigh the loss.

On the other hand, if they give the illegals amnesty then they'll have to
pay them more which means they'll just hire a new batch of non-
amnestied illegals and the whole cycle starts over again.

Pls contact the Tx Citrus Mutual Assc. via phone, email, letter or facebook and ask them to obey our immigration laws and hire legal workers, if they want us to purchase their goods.

It's the business lobby, that is our greatest or largest opponet. If illegals couldn't get a job, they would "self deport".

Not so. Hispanics are increasingly wary of illegals. That's probably because they realize that they and their offspring will be undercut by illegals when they try to get jobs.

IMO if Lamar Smith can get increased use of E-Verify and worksite enforcement, momentum for pro-American policies will build. Let's not forget that many Mexicans are 2d, 3d, and 4th generation Americans. The only reason that they've been slow to voice their concerns is that our national government has been unwilling to insist on enforcing our laws.

With a porous border, a vocal Reconquista element, nose counting Demos and Open Border Repubs, this could be a serious problem. We need a moratorium in immigration in any case, while we formulate a policy which is based on what's best for Americans - including those 2d, 3d, and 4th generation Mexican Americans.
