CBP apprehends 8 fugitives over the weekend

EL PASO, Texas —
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers apprehended eight fugitives over the weekend included a wanted sex offended and homicide suspect, officials said.
Around 7 p.m. Friday, Leonardo Limon entered the Paso Del Norte border crossing as a pedestrian. Limon, 20, was wanted by the state of New Mexico on charges of homicide, attempt to commit first-degree murder and other charges, officials said.
Limon was connected to a November 2011 stabbing in Anthony, Texas, and he was turned over to the El Paso Police Department and booked into the county jail.
On Sunday, at the same border crossing, Julio Caesar Rosales told officers that he was a wanted man. Officers confirmed that Rosales, 21, was wanted on aggravated sexual assault to a child charges. He was taken into custody by sheriff's officials.
"The thorough inspections performed by CBP officers routinely result in the discovery and apprehension of wanted people," said Hector Mancha, CBP El Paso port director. "Homeland security is our primary mission however every time we capture a wanted person that results in a safer community for us all. This is an important part of the work CBP does daily."
