DEMOCRATS SHOW HYPOCRISY ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

The following information was released by the Colorado Senate:

Today Senate Democrats killed two measures to enforce laws pertaining to illegal immigration in the State, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee after voting to give in-state tuition to what they call "undocumented students."

House Bill 11-1140 to prohibit local governments from refusing to participate in Secure Communities and House Bill 11-1252 to require proof of citizenship in order to register to vote both died on a party-line vote.

"Senate Democrats continually say illegal immigration is a federal problem that cannot be addressed on the state level," said Senator Ted Harvey, R-Highlands Ranch. "Yet just this morning they voted to grant in-state tuition to illegal immigrants."

"Rather than taking steps to curb illegal immigration, Senate Democrats are content with rewarding and condoning this illegal conduct for votes only."

"The Senate needs to end this hypocritical behavior and enforce the law," concluded Harvey.

Not to mention that in-state tuition for illegals violates federal law.
