Border Patrol agents arrested four people and seized about 245 pounds of marijuana Tuesday in the desert near Gila Bend.

According to the Border Patrol, agents from the Yuma Sector's Wellton Station were patrolling near Gila Bend when they detected signs of suspected illegal immigrants traveling on foot.

With the help of a dog team, agents found four people hiding under brush with marijuana in makeshift burlap backpacks. The people and marijuana were turned over to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

The drugs are valued at $122,500.
