Concerned Citizen’s Report Leads to Border Patrol and Webb County Sheriff’s Office Shutting Down Stash House

    Release Date: October 1, 2020

LAREDO, TEXAS – Acting together on a report from a concerned citizen, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Laredo South Station and Webb County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputies closed down a stash house in Rio Bravo, Texas.

The incident occurred during the late morning of September 30, when agents along with deputies acted on the information of a possible stash house.

Agents and deputies apprehended 39 individuals
who were determined to be in the United States illegally from the countries of Mexico and Guatemala.

Two of the individuals had active warrants of arrest for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and were turned over to WCSO for extradition.

None of the individuals were wearing any personal protective equipment (PPE). With a noted increase in COVID-19 infections among detainees, the smuggling and housing of large groups of individuals in stash houses and close quarters without PPE not only endangers the people being smuggled, but the safety of our Nation.

Border Patrol agents of the Laredo Sector will continue to work with our local law enforcement partners to ensure the agency’s enduring mission priorities of combatting transnational crime and securing the border.

To report suspicious activity such as alien and/or drug smuggling, download the “USBP Laredo Sector” App or contact the Laredo Sector Border Patrol toll free at 1-800-343-1994. Process them.

Expel the all within 90 minutes of apprehension.

Let our firefighters burn down the stash houses as training exercises.

Bulldoze the property and clean up these neighborhoods and FLUSH them out...out of our country!
