Thread: Cornyn: Obama 'Defiant' When GOP Leaders Confronted Him On Executive Amnesty

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), the incoming majority whip in the 114th Congress, described “person after person” aggressively confronting the president about his plans to issue a unilateral amnesty for millions of illegal aliens at a closed-door lunch Friday.

But President Obama was unbowed, even after an electoral shellacking last week, Cornyn said.

“He was pretty defiant. He was pretty defiant,” Cornyn said. “For the president to poison the well at the very outset is really unimaginable.”

The Texas Republican also discussed Obamacare repeal, saying the GOP would begin with repealing unpopular slices of the law – he listed the medical device tax and Independent Payment Advisory Board as examples.

Following that, reconciliation – a Senate procedure by which deficit-reducing bills can pass the chamber with a bare majority vote – “will be one avenue for us,” Cornyn said, “of course in order to do that we have to pass a budget, which hasn't happened since 2009.”

Cornyn also said he did not anticipate Obama's attorney general nomination to come up during the lame duck session.

That is because Obama knows that Senator John Cornyn has promised the same mega wealth paymasters that he will vote for immigration reform amnesty for illegals too! So why would Obama fear Cornyn or any of the other sellout GOP Senators that also support amnesty for illegals?
