DAIRY FARMER GETS PRISON TIME FOR HIRING ILLEGALS

Guilty of knowingly harboring undocumented aliens for private gain

Published: 19 hours ago(Bay City Times) A Michigan dairy farmer is to spend a couple of years in federal prison and owes a six-figure fine for hiring undocumented immigrants.

U.S. District Judge Thomas L. Ludington on Thursday, Jan. 4, sentenced Denis Burke to two years in prison, followed by two years of supervised release. Ludington did not order Burke taken into custody on Thursday, but gave him time to self-report to the U.S. Marshals Services.

The judge also ordered Burke to pay a fine of $187,500 and an assessment fee of $100.

Burke in September pleaded guilty to knowingly harboring illegal aliens for private gain and/or commercial advantage.

This is great news, BUT, how come ALL employers of illegal aliens aren't imprisoned and fined? This is good, very good, but we need to lock them ALL up, not just pick and choose a few out of an enormous pool of criminal employers.

I've been saying this all along. I've always said that we need to go to the source, the people who employ them. By only focusing on the illegals and not the employers who employ them, we are treating the symptoms and not the disease. It's a never ending battle. If we target the source, the people who employ illegals, illegal immigration will come to screeching hault.

Oh, and giving this guy 2 years in prison is a very good start. I've always said that in addition to a very heavy monetary fine, these people who employ illegals should also be imprisoned as well. This is good.

I'm all for it. Now, could we add the politicians who protect the invaders to the list. We would get somewhere then for sure.
