Deported Child Sex Offender Arrested After Re-Entering Arizona

    August 15, 2018
    Bob Price

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a previously deported child sex offender after he illegally re-entered the U.S. near Lukeville, Arizona. Records indicate a Colorado court sentenced the man to eight years of “intensive supervision” following a 2011 conviction for attempted sexual assault of a child under the age of 15.

Agents assigned to the Ajo Border Patrol Station encountered a man who illegally crossed the border between ports of entry near the border town of Lukeville, Arizona. The agents arrested the man near Gila Bend and transported him to the Ajo Station for processing and a biometric background investigation. The agents discovered the Mexican national has a lengthy criminal history including an attempted sexual assault of a child under the age of 15, according to information provided to Breitbart Texas by Tucson Sector Border Patrol officials.

Gila Bend is located about halfway between the border crossing at Lukeville and the city of Phoenix on Highway 85.

The Ajo Station agents identified the Mexican national as 33-year-old Carlos Ramirez-Ramirez. His felony criminal record includes a 2011 conviction in Denver, Colorado, for attempted sexual assault of a child under the age of 15, officials stated. Other entries on his record include harassment, driving under restraint, and leaving the scene of an accident. The Denver court sentenced Ramirez-Ramirez to eight years of “intensive supervision” in 2011.

The Mexican sex offender now faces new federal felony charges for illegal entry after removal as a convicted sex offender. If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in federal prison.

Border Patrol officials advised that all illegal immigrants arrested after crossing the border are subjected to a criminal history check that includes the use of biometrics. The goal is to identify any criminal alien who is attempting to re-enter the U.S. after being deported.
