A former INS agent told Newsmax TV immigration laws are meant to keep lawbreakers out of the United States, not give them a path to becoming a citizen.

"The immigration laws are designed to keep out criminals, terrorists, spies, human rights violators. When you trespass, there's a problem," Michael Cutler told Dennis Michael Lynch Monday on "Unfiltered."

"It's remarkable that [Sen. Chuck] Schumer keeps talking about putting people in jail for five years for trespassing on landmarks. He wants to make that a federal offense, but yet in Schumer's world and in the Democrat world, when you trespass in America, you've earned a path to citizenship."

Cutler also blasted the language some politicians and experts use when referring to illegal aliens. Some say the use of illegal alien is racist, but Cutler says it's merely correct according to the law.

"They're not undocumented immigrants, they're illegal aliens and the term 'alien' is a legal term but it's important we use proper language and it's not about political correctness," he said. "The term 'alien' is a lawful term, we've used it legally since 1790, the naturalization laws of the United States and the very inception of the country. It means any person who's not a citizen or a national of the United States. There's no insult."

Cutler said it's important for the immigration system to have "integrity … It starts with convincing people that if you're here in violation of law, the effort will be made to find you and deport you."
