A lawsuit has been filed against the Department of Justice (DOJ), the FBI, and the Bureau of Prisons to force the production of records that demonstrate accurate illegal alien crime rates.

The immigration reform legal research group says the lawsuit is part of its effort to shed public light on “the Obama Administration’s continued usurpation of our immigration laws.”

Although the Government Accountability Office (GAO) published a report in 2011 admitting that over 20,000 U.S. citizens and legal residents were killed by illegal aliens, their research obtained shows it is “far higher,” they say.

IRLI Executive Director, Dale L. Wilcox, commented, “The records we expect to receive in response to our suit we hope will raise public awareness regarding President Obama’s no-borders policies and the burden placed on American families, like the Rosenbergs, families who’ve been forced to deal with the loss of a loved one.” Wilcox continued, “Every crime illegal aliens commit in the U.S. was potentially preventable if the illegal alien had been identified, apprehended, and removed before they victimized anyone.”

The federal complaint filed on November 1, names the DOJ, the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and the Office of Justice Programs, as defendants. The plaintiffs in the case is the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).

A statement obtained by the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) says that each of these defendant entities have “unlawfully stonewalled FAIR’s requests.” Lawyer Julie B. Axelrod of the IRLI filed the lawsuit on behalf of FAIR.

Axelrod told Breitbart Texas, “By hiding the crime figures related to illegal aliens from the American people, the Obama Administration enables the promotion of false claims that seriously understate how much illegal immigration is victimizing Americans. With our suit, we hope families like the Rosenbergs will be able to obtain a full understanding of the government’s nonenforcement policies. We think they deserve that.”

The immigration reform organizations has also filed the lawsuit on behalf of Don Rosenberg, an American whose son was killed by an illegal alien in 2010. Rosenberg, an ardent advocate for immigration reform and government accountability, found “certain statistical irregularities” in the report released by the GAO in 2011.

Don Rosenberg’s 25-year-old son Drew was killed by an unlicensed illegal alien driver. He maintains a website explaining the horrific things his family went through after his son was killed.

Rosenberg “hopes he can provide a complete picture of the avoidable tragedies faced by so many nation-wide.”
