Florida Joins Texas-Led Lawsuit Against Obama's Executive Amnesty

by Sarah Rumpf 5 Dec 2014, 3:09 PM PDT

AUSTIN, Texas -- Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi announced on Friday that Florida would be joining the lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott against the Obama administration for the President's executive immigration actions to grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants.

As Breitbart Texas reported on Wednesday, Abbott, joined by seventeen other states, filed a complaint in the United States District Court in the Southern District of Texas, alleging that Obama's executive action violates the Take Care Clause of Article II, § 3, clause 5 of the United States Constitution and the Administrative Procedure Act, 5 U.S.C. §§551 et seq.

In a press release posted on the Florida Attorney General's website, Bondi released the following statement:

"This lawsuit is not about immigration, rather this lawsuit is about President Obama -- yet again -- overstepping the power granted to him by our United States Constitution. The President repeatedly said he would not violate the law, then decided to do just that. The powers granted to the President are expressly laid out in the United States Constitution, yet President Obama has decided to ignore those parameters. We need to fix our system of immigration, but willfully turning a blind eye to the inconvenience of law and rule is not the path to a remedy, but a prescription for unwarranted presidential overreach."

In the general election in November, Abbott was elected to be Texas' next Governor, and will leave the Attorney General's office in January. His successor, Attorney General-elect Ken Paxton, has vowed to continue to support this lawsuit when he takes over from Abbott. In the same elections in Florida, Bondi was re-elected to another four year term as Attorney General, and will continue to represent the state as this litigation moves forward.

    GO FLORIDA! GO STATES!

Pam, it is about immigration, because immigration is what he violated his powers to promote and his Memo isn't the only thing he's done wrong with immigration as new information is coming out. In order to prove he violated his powers by promoting and expanding immigration without an act of Congress, you have to prove he violated his oath to faithfully execute existing US immigration law and tried to change immigration laws with a Memo that can only be changed by Congress. Hopefully, you won't be arguing the case before the US Supreme Court and state something as stupid as "this is not about immigration, it's about the President ....", because it's absolutely about immigration and as things progress it will be about far more wrongful actions regarding immigration than just the Obama Memo, so get ready for a "comprehensive" filed not against Obama, but against Obama, it's filed against the administration so can, should and will include the wrongful acts of all in government who committed them that cost our States money and our Citizens their jobs and wages, and cost many their lives and their families their loved ones.
