Group says candidate will take votes from Hayworth

Group says candidate will take votes from Hayworth

    Associated Press - July 15, 2010 5:14 PM ET

PHOENIX (AP) - An anti-illegal immigration group is asking a political newcomer to drop his Republican primary challenge to Arizona Sen. John McCain.

Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee says Navy veteran Jim Deakin could serve as a "political spoiler" by splitting anti-McCain votes with former congressman J.D. Hayworth.

The organization has endorsed Hayworth in the Aug. 24 primary.

Deakin says he won't drop out because he's the best candidate to beat McCain.

Hayworth spokesman Mark Sanders says Hayworth believes everyone has the right to run for office. But he also says any vote for Deakin will help return McCain to the Senate.

A Rocky Mountain Poll released Wednesday shows McCain with a considerable lead over both challengers.

Deakin claims he is the best candidate to defeat McCain, but nobody can find any example in the history of the United States when a candidate polling as low as Deakin five weeks before the election has ever won a race in America.

Deakin's statement is either delusional or he is witting or unwitting spoiler for John McCain.

The AP doing their job to protect all Amnesty supporters of course uses that bogus poll that just came out that is off base from all the other polls showing JD within striking range of McCain.

Think Rocky Mountain Poll might be biased and have an agenda? From their website:

"Rocky Mountain Poll Public Issues Polls
    Hispanic consumer reports
Job Ratings of major elected officials
    Test elections
    Hispanic Consumer Reports"

Seems Hispanics are a big part of their business.

The guy is a Navy veteran as is McCain. Something smells really fishy and it has the appearance this is done purposely to give McCain a huge advantage by forcing a sharing of any votes between Hayworth and Deakin. My gut says this Deakin guy is in bed with McCain and is doing this solely for the purpose of helping McCain win the primary.
