House leaders ready "Jobs for Illegal Aliens" nationwide tour

The dog days of summer are fast approaching, and this year leaders of the House of Representatives have put together a dog and pony show aimed at selling to the American people the 8th amnesty for illegal aliens since 1986.

It's being billed as "Becoming America," and more than 100 people, including community leaders - aka amnesty advocates - are expected to participate in the event that will take place during the August recess.

Here is the announced congressional cast and their immigration career grades courtesy of NumbersUSA:

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) B
Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) F-
Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.) F-
Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.) D
Fred Upton (R-Mich.) C+
Michael Grimm (R-N.Y) B-
Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) F-
Lois Capps (D-Calif.) F
Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) D
Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) F
Susan Davis (D-Calif.) F
Ann Kirkpatrick ( D-Ariz.) No Grade
Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) F

You can expect plenty of coverage of this "educational" effort from the mainstream media, e.g., immigrant "success" stories, audiences waving the American flag and such, but don't count on any interviews and photos of America's unemployed whose own search for a better life will be made more difficult if Congress succeeds in adding millions of foreign workers to a workforce already populated by 7 million illegals holding non-ag payroll jobs.

And you can forget any speeches about what it will cost future generations of Americans.

Instead, you'll hear more of the following:

“It helps us to be removed from Washington and not be in the limelight of all that happens inside the Beltway,” said Rep. Crowley.

Interesting. Being away from Washington will change who these people are or their goal of giving American workers the short end of the stick? Does a tiger lose its stripe when removed from its native habitat and placed in a zoo?

Or this from Rep Cantor:
“This trip is another bipartisan occasion to come together and celebrate the stories and traditions of so many of our families who came to this great country to pursue the American dream and build a brighter future for our children.”

Don't bet on it; legalization doesn't guarantee a brighter future.

During all the coming hoopla surrounding "Becoming America," we ask that you never lose sight of this question:

Why should we trust those who "broke" our immigration system in the first place when they say they now want to fix it?

If these "lawmakers" and community leaders are successful in convincing an American public long deprived of all the facts by our one-dimensional media, the biggest winners will be the 11 million illegal aliens already here and those politicians who crave their votes. The biggest losers will be the 20 million Americans who can't find full-time work.

Can we look forward to a national tour addressing the plight of these citizens?
