GREELEY, Colo. — Federal agents raided six Swift & Co. processing plants in six states including Colorado on Tuesday, arresting an unknown number of suspected illegal immigrants in an identity theft investigation.

ICE agents executed search warrants at Swift's processing facilities in Greeley, Colo.; Grand Island, Neb.; Cactus, Texas; Hyrum, Utah; Marshalltown, Iowa; and Worthington, Minn.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials did not have an arrest total but said workers were being arrested on administrative immigration violations and in some cases, existing criminal arrest warrants.

They said criminal charges of aggravated identity theft and other violations were possible.

An investigation that began in February indicated that large numbers of illegal immigrants may have used the Social Security numbers of U.S. citizens or residents to get jobs at Swift.

The company did not immediately return a phone message Tuesday morning seeking comment.

Immigration officials and the Federal Trade Commission have identified hundreds of potential victims, ICE said.

This is good news. On CNN they said the the investigation was called "Operation Wagon Train" . I hope they take it to Tysons and the rest of the processing plants..

Hopefully busted next is Seaboard and Cargill along with a long list of other blatant offenders...this gives me hope........ and much happiness

Now if we can get them down to Tar Heel, NC that would be nice.

Everyone should check out the website here that duece posted. Looks like illegal supporters are blocking busses and trying to prevent our laws from being enforced. Terrorism, plain and simple.

Crowd moves to block exit

The crowd gathering at the Swift & Co. beef packing plant in north Greeley is apparently going to try and block buses and vans leaving the plant with employees picked up by Immigration and Custom Enforcement officials this morning.

The crowd is moving to the north exit of the plant on the east side of 8th Avenue in an attempt to prevent the buses and vans from moving.

8:40 a.m. update: ICE officials marched out a line of 13 people from the Swift & Co. beef packing plant and placed them in one of the waiting white vans.

At about the same time, a person in a white Chevrolet Malibu drove by on 8th Avenue and yelled, “Get the all. Yeaaaa!”

I did check out the Tribune articles...this was one of my favorite parts.
